About the Leadership St. Pete® Program
With roots dating back to the early 1970s, Leadership St. Pete® (LSP) is one of the oldest leadership programs in the country, second only to the city of Atlanta. The program is a division of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber and its affiliated 501(c)(3) foundation, the Bay Area Chamber Foundation, Inc.
LSP is a dynamic, intensive, interactive, six-month experience designed to promote and enhance community leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic, business and political issues in the St. Petersburg area. The goal of LSP is to identify, recruit and develop leaders who represent the diversity of our community and who will assume future leadership roles in the Chamber and other community organizations.
Class members research and develop seminars that focus on the topics that shape our community, including education, local and state government, cultural arts, nonprofit work, the environment and diversity. They also participate in leadership training that provides valuable insights into both their leadership style and how others respond to that style. The panel discussions at each seminar, as well as discussions that happen in the context of planning a class project, engender fresh thinking, debate, camaraderie and respect between class members.

About ALPHA House of Pinellas County, Inc.
Pinellas County’s only residential maternity program, ALPHA House provides housing and supportive services to homeless pregnant women and teens, new mothers with infants, and families experiencing crisis pregnancies. ALPHA House stands for Acceptance Life Purpose Hope Accomplishment.
The goal of the Residential Program at ALPHA House is to move women from homelessness to self-sufficiency while promoting healthy relationships, positive parenting, a good self-image and self-empowerment.
To accomplish the objectives of ALPHA, each resident receives education, counseling, case management, life skills education and peer education training.
Since 1979, ALPHA has provided housing and support services to over 3,000 women, teens and infants. Through the years, approximately 90 percent of those who have gone through the ALPHA House program made a successful transition into permanent housing and independent living. ALPHA’s community outreach has distributed items to more than 30,000 families in need. ALPHA does not have specified age, income or geographic criteria.
