PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

BBC Video™ roars into September by unleashing to DVD the newest season of the hit BBC AMERICA series - Primeval. Created by Tim Haines (Walking With Dinosaurs) and Adrian Hodges (Survivors, Rome, The Lost World), this latest instalment promises to deliver more terrifying monsters from the past and future, new cast members, stunning special effects and a rare location shoot in London’s British Museum. New cast members include Jason Flemyng, recently returned from playing Brad Pitt’s father in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Laila Rouass, best known as Amber Gates in Footballers Wive$. The new season also brings an unusual new monster designed entirely by a Primeval fan. The fully-loaded 3-disc box set features the complete 10-episode UK third season as well as extensive bonus material including audio commentary, behind the scenes footage and more. A must-own title for all sci-fi fans, Primeval: Volume Two arrives at retail on September 15, 2009 for the suggested retail price of $39.98 ($49.98 in Canada). The prebook date is Auguts 11, 2009.

Primeval has garnered U.S. media acclaim with The New York Post proclaiming, “The effects are not only superb…the digital images are on par with the ones in Jurassic Park and they’re comparable to the work in any but the biggest-budget theatrical releases.” The Los Angeles Daily News also declared Primeval “an invigorating action show that the broadcast networks would kill to have.” A U.S. feature film version is currently in the works with Warner Bros. and Impossible Pictures for 2010.

PRIMEVAL: VOLUME TWO SYNOPSIS

Still reeling from the shocking death of Stephen and the stunning betrayal of Helen (Juliet Aubrey, The Constant Gardener), Nick (Douglas Henshall, French Film, Dorian Gray) must fight to re-focus his embattled team, now reduced to two members, student palaeontologist Connor (Andrew-Lee Potts) and zoologist Abby (Hannah Spearritt, Agent Cody Banks, S Club7). Cutter’s crew is joined by some new recruits in the form of maverick policeman Danny Quinn (Jason Flemyng), sparky Egyptologist Sarah Page (Laila Rouass), and the new leader of the ARC’s security forces, Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield). But the anomalies continue to present an unrelenting series of threats, including such terrifying ancient creatures as Giganotosaurus (a truly terrifying predator, bigger even than the Tyrannosaurus Rex), Pristichampus (a creature which strikingly resembles the ancient Egyptian crocodile demon, Ammut) and Dracorex. As deadlier creatures continue to rampage through the anomalies, the cloak of secrecy behind which the team has been working is in jeopardy. Questions are being asked and the conspiracy spreads its net wide. If something is not done quickly, the team’s future is threatened—not to mention the future of humankind itself.
