Dr. Wertheimer is esteemed for the trainings on leadership development, team building, goal-setting, supervision, communication skills, and ethics that she conducts. As a consultant she works with nonprofit boards and lay leaders of foundations, professional associations, nonprofits, and educational institutions on strategic planning, visioning, new board member orientation, board governance, communications, and board roles.
Dr. Wertheimer is the immediate past-president of Jewish Family & Career Services in Atlanta. As chair of board development, she created and facilitated a board restructuring process after the merger of two agencies. As first vice-president, she facilitated a comprehensive strategic planning process, and, as president, she developed processes for the CEO evaluation, ongoing review/evaluation of all Agency programs, the establishment of a community advisory board, and enhanced Board communications. The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA) invited Dr. Wertheimer to co-chair and facilitate the Presidents’ Leadership Program, a training program for incoming Board Presidents of affiliate agencies and organizations and to speak on board governance for their leadership conference through the Institute of Synagogue Excellence. Dr. Wertheimer served as co-chair for the JFGA Jewish Community Centennial Population Study: 2006, and, currently, is co-chair of long-range planning.
