How We Worked It: The students are truly settling in and DOING THE WORK in an engaging way. As we walked the building and sat in classes, we witnessed the work being done in these ways (among others):

  • Great Public Hearing Turnout and Staff Support
  • Wonderful Back-to-School Night – thanks for representing yourselves so well
  • Nice start to LEAP
  • UCLA Walkthroughs were great – thank you to those who volunteered their classrooms
  • McREL Work – really fine
  • SIFE and Emergent Literacy Work – focused work!
  • Successful First Friday Breakfast
  • Students conferencing with teachers, answering questions posed by teacher, students posing questions to one another, text interpretation and supporting it with text evidence, annotating text, inquiry teams working on exact and estimated values in science, negative fractions and exponents, teenage life in the Revolutionary War years, interdisciplinary approaches in Spanish and focusing on time and cognates, positive social health interactions, art work with fall themes, and many others
  • Dept Leaders working on department SMART Goals
  • Great staff collaborations benefitting students

  • HALF DAY(11:30AM) – PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ACADEMY – FRIDAY, OCT 10TH
  • BERT Meeting – October 10th
  • PROGRESS REPORTS MAILED FRIDAY, OCT 10TH
  • Literary Concept for October is Define - Please include this concept in your lessons/activities
  • Observations will begin sometime in October – Administration will communicate dates - review Danielson Framework and Rubric
  • ATTENDANCE TO BE TAKEN EACH PERIOD, EACH DAY - IT’S THE LAW!!
  • Passes must be utilized when students leave your classroom
  • Clinical meetings – no department or grade-level meetings as you all work on progress reports - please review work submission dates from professional development
  • IST meetings to begin soon
  • Students need to return to the building, from recess, in a more structured way. Also, we are only using the main entrance.
  • Shirt list to be collected daily at 9:30 by Security – Dr. Campolongo will supervise
