Job Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert on global onboarding policies and procedures for newly hired PDC faculty members, division staff, department staff, and other Duke department contacts.
- Serve as a liaison for newly hired PDC faculty members to the onboarding process which includes familiarizing the new member with the PDC organization, PDC member benefits, PDC contacts, Duke Resources, and contacts.
- Perform periodic “check ins” with new members throughout the onboarding process to ensure they are familiar with process and timelines. Send out surveys to new members 30 days post hire and 6 month post hire and report on findings.
- Collaborate with responsible parties in assigned departments to ensure onboarding tasks are completed for new PDC members. This may include creating itineraries for new faculty members prior to their first day to facilitate completion of onboarding items and escorting them to the meeting locations when appropriate.
- Schedule regular meetings with department contacts to report on onboarding activities. Revise onboarding checklists as needed.
- Partner with PhysicianCoordinator for Hospital Onboarding to ensure PDC members receive optimal orientation to DUH.
- Solicit and incorporate ideas to expandour “best practice” onboarding initiatives.
- Partner with manager on social events, group trainings, and other initiatives (monthly newsletter, onboarding committee meetings, orientations, etc.)
- Collaborate with manager to ensure onboarding resources are continually updated including forms, websites, onboarding resources, and other department material.
- Identify onboarding hurdles and recommend appropriate interventions and/or corrective action that may be needed.
- Collaborate with GME to improve the transition process of GME trainees to PDC clinical positions.
- Attend monthly onboarding committee meetings.
- Exhibit a welcoming, customer service focused attitude in all interactions with Duke internal and external clients
- Prepare monthly activity reports and other reports as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
