MORNING MASS This term, Fr Rafal will celebrate Mass in the Oratory on Mondays and Fridays at 8.20am

*S6 Pupils Volunteering

Could all S6 pupils who have volunteered to help out with the S1 retreats to Carfin please notify Mr McBride in advance if they are not going to be able to make it. There is a timetable in the glass cabinet outside of the oratory. A space is available on Thursday 28th September for any pupil who put their name down on the reserve list – see Mr McBride.

Award Winners and Ceremony.

Could all pupils please check the noticeboard (beneath the stain glass) for the list of Award winners for 2016-17. There will be a short Assembly for all Award winners after registration on Friday (8th September). There will also be a rehearsal for the ceremony next Tuesday (12th September) at the beginning of period 6 in the street.

S1 PRAYER GROUP MEETING

Any first year pupil interested in joining the School Prayer Group, please come to the Oratory this Friday, 8th September at 12.45pm. Meetings will be held once a month and will be led by senior pupils who are trained and prepared to lead. Mrs Glen

Can you please remind pupils to check lost property at Janitors and PE Department for lost blazers, shoes etc.

Futsal

Any S1 pupil who has played Futsal before and wishes to be considered to represent the school at a Futsal tournament should see Mr Waddell in the PE Dept by end of day Wednesday.

Premiership Experience Trip

The noticeboard in the PE Dept has now been updated with names and new details for the Premiership Experience trip on the 4th and 5th November. There will be a meeting the last 15 minutes of lunch on Wednesday where details of the payment schedule will be discussed. You must attend this meeting or your place on the trip may not be kept.

Athletics – Secondary Road Race Championships 4th October 2017

Any pupils wishing to compete for the school in the Scottish Road Race Championships in October should give their names to Mr Waddell in the PE Dept as soon as possible.

SCIENCE CLUB

The Science Club will be starting on Monday 11 September in room F204 with Mr Cox and Mr Hamilton for S1 and S2. Could pupils please bring a packed lunch with them for quickness. A Cox

N5 CHEMISTRY CALCULATIONS CLUB

N5 Chemistry Calculations Club will meet every Wednesday at lunchtime in E206. Focus on N5 chemistry calculations.

VINYL RECORD CLUB

The Vinyl Record Club will meet once a month on a Friday in E206, meet, listen and discuss a classic vinyl record. This month Friday 8 September Sgt Peppers by The Beatles.

CONCERT BAND REHEARSAL

Next week the Concert Band Rehearsal on Wednesday 6 September will be during period 6. FULL ATTENDANCE REQUIRED TO REHEARSE FOR PRIZEGIVING CEREMONY ON 14 SEPTEMBER.

DANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

Any pupils interested in representing the school at the South Lanarkshire Dance Championships should attend a meeting in the PE department on Tuesday 5September at lunchtime. The time of the school newspaper meeting has been moved from Monday lunchtime to Wednesdaylunchtime in the school library. M Wilkie

SCHOOLS GOLF

The South Lanarkshire Schools Golf Championships will be played on Tuesday 19th September at East Kilbride Golf Club.

Each school can enter 3 boys with a handicap of 24 or lower and as many girls as possible with a handicap of 30 or lower.

Any boys or girls who are interested in taking part please contact Mr Ferguson (in Science/Guidance).

UCAS HGHER CONVENTION

This year’s UCAS Higher convention is on Thursday 14 September at Ravenscraig Regional Sports facility. There will be representatives from Scottish Universities and colleges admissions departments. Pupils will have the opportunity to ask questions and collect prospectuses. There is a £3 charge towards the transport costs. If interested please pass your name to Mrs Pearson as soon as possible.
