WHAT: In addition to the state tournament, the MPSSAA is sponsoring a regular season tournament for female golfers. There will be three different events on Saturday, October 18th at Potomac Ridge Golf Course in order to accommodate all skill levels. There will be an 18-hole stroke play tournament for the better golfers, a 9-hole stroke play tournament for the average golfers, and a 3-hour clinic and skills challenge for up to 50 novice players. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each of the tournaments. During the novice clinic, each station session will culminate with a competitive “Skills Challenge” activity where awards will be presented.

Total entries and player handicaps (or best 18-hole scores) will be used to determine placement in one of the three Challenge events or players may directly choose to participate in the clinic using this entry form. The clinic will begin at 2:00 pm with teaching and club professionals from around the state working with groups of 5-6 golfers in rotating stations on full swing technique, pitching, chipping and putting.

WHEN: This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 18that Potomac Ridge Golf Course in Waldorf, Md., at 1:00 pm with a modified shot gun start. All play will be governed by current USGA and MPSSAA rules. The clinic will begin at 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Potomac Ridge Golf Course in Waldorf, Md.

From route 95 (Capital Beltway) : Take I-95 to Exit 2 on Route 210 South, (Indian Head Highway). Proceed 8 miles and turn left onto Farmington Road. Proceed 1 mile and continue straight through a 4-way stop. Farmington road becomes Berry road. Continue on Berry Road until it ends at Accokeek Road (Route 373) where you will see signs to the golf course. Take a right on Accokeek Road then first left on Sharperville road. Golf course entrance is at the end of Sharperville Road.
From Annapolis and Points East: Take Route 301 South (Crain Highway) towards Richmond, continue on 301 to just North of Waldorf. Make right on Brandywine Road. Proceed ¼ mile and veer left on Route 373 (Accokeek Road) continue through stoplight. Proceed 6 miles on Accokeek Road. Then make a left on Sharperville Road. Golf course entrance is at the end of Sharperville Road.
From Waldorf and Points South: Take, Route 301 North towards Baltimore. In Waldorf make a left turn on Acton Road. Continue on Acton road and it will become Gardner Road. Turn left on Accokeek Road. Take Accokeek for 1.5 miles and make a left on Sharperville Road. Golf course entrance is at the end of Sharperville Road.

WHO: This event is open to any high school female who is currently a bona fide member of a Maryland public high school golf team. Golfers MUST be accompanied by their high school coach in order to participate that day. All golfers shall bring a bagged set of clubs to use. Tournament players shall provide their own tees and balls.
