The Australian Q Fever Register

·  The register provides a permanent record of a person’s Q Fever immune and vaccination status

·  This avoids

o  The costs of unnecessary re-testing

o  The risk of repeated vaccination

·  The register issues a credit-card style Q Fever card as proof of vaccination or immune status. This simplifies employment in high-risk industries.

·  Individuals can check their status (if they have lost their card) by calling the register on 1300 733 837 (1300QFEVER)

·  To submit data to the Register, medical practices need to be issued with a password. Go to http://www.qfever.org for information about getting your password.

·  Individuals have the right to refuse to have their immune status recorded on the register so ensure that you get a signed consent form.
