POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: / Assistant Director, Early Education Center
Job Duties: / The Atlanta Technical College Assistant Director in conjunction with the center’s Director, are responsible for the day-to-day management of the center. The Assistant Director is also responsible for the effective implementation of relationship-based, family-centered services, the Head Start Performance Standards, and state and local regulatory guidelines. The Assistant Director ensures the implementation of comprehensive services at the site including early childhood education, family support, health, nutrition, mental health, and social services. The Assistant Director is responsible for program planning and monitoring of the center.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: / Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or a related field and two (2) years of qualifying work experience.
·  Knowledge of childcare center operations and previous experience. Three years’ experience in an administrative and/or supervisory position, or three years’ experience in operating a child care center.
·  Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
·  Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for early care and education
·  Knowledge of city and state licensing requirements
·  Ability to lead an interdisciplinary team of professionals
·  Ability to utilize and provide reflective supervision
·  Ability to communicate in a manner that demonstrates and fosters cooperation, respect, concern and openness to change
·  Familiarity with community culture and knowledge of community resources and services
·  Advanced knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking skills
·  Current biannual training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial program First Aid
·  Clear a Cogent fingerprint background check
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: / Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or a related field and three (3) years of qualifying work experience.
WORK SCHEDULE: / Schedule - Monday – Friday
SALARY: / This is a grant funded position until June 30, 2018. Not to Exceed $45,000.00.
