Title:Events and Engagement Officer

Department: Policy and Engagement

Reports to: Fundraising Manager

Main function:The Events and Engagement Officer will be responsible for developing effective and high impact campaigns on behalf of Inspire. As a member of the Policy and Engagement Team, the post holder will contribute to the provision of a professional, modern, ethical and authentic needs driven service to help meet organisational requirements and objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities are to:

  1. Clarity of Purpose
  1. Work closely with the Policy and Engagement Team to develop and implement an events and fundraising strategy.
  2. Deliver a range of high quality, impactful events for Inspire to include a mix of fundraising events and awareness raising event.
  3. Project manage and promote events to identified target audiences.
  4. Assess all events for return on investment and growth potential.
  5. Provide excellent supporter care and act as an account manager for Inspires Charity of the Year partnerships.
  6. Identify new sources of support through networking, pitches and social media, and build relationships with new businesses and other sources ranging from trusts to legacies to establish loyalty and sustainable income.
  7. Support Charities of the Year and other supporters in fundraising ideas, providing help with branding, as well as encouraging them to participate in events as candidates and volunteers.
  8. Report to the Fundraising Manager on income and expenditure for specific areas of the events programme.
  9. Ensure all fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation and with best practice guidelines.
  10. Ensure GDPR compliance across all activity.
  11. Design and implement tracking measures for the response and cost/benefits of fundraising and events
  12. Monitor expenditure against approved budgets in relation to fundraising and events activities.

  1. Develop professional working relationships and networks with industry bodies in NI and Ireland.
  2. Work closely with the Digital Communications Officer to ensure synergy with Inspires digital communications strategy and online presence.
  3. To stay abreast of digital/online development so that online events are contemporary and reflect positively on Inspire.

  1. Provide media and communications support and advice to Inspire staff and individual services.
  2. Have a clear understanding of the critical role of internal and external relationships.
  3. Acknowledge, recognise and respect the expertise and contribution of others.
  4. Share knowledge, skills, training and learning across the team.
  5. Engage with managers and peers across Inspire.
