Job Title:Project Officer (Historic Sites and Projects)

Full time, permanent role 37 hours a week
£21,500 per annum

Location:The Old School, Heckington

Responsible to:Senior Manager

Job Purpose:To be responsible for the management of the historic sites in the care of the Trust, including supporting local friends groups and other volunteers, and promoting the sites to a broad audience.

To be responsible for the development of smaller scale heritage projects for the Trust and for external partners.

To contribute to other activities within the Trust such as wider public engagement, events and education.

Key tasks:

  • The management of the all the Trust properties including the offices at The Old School, Heckington, Mill Hill Cottage, Tupholme Abbey, Holbeach Bunker, Bollingbroke Castle, Tattershall College, Temple Bruer, Hussey Tower. To include site visits, management plans, repair programmes and events.
  • Identify, develop and deliver smaller scale heritage projects for the Trust and new opportunities for community project work
  • Toidentify potential sources of funding available for these projects and contribute to grant applications and funding bids to a variety of funding sources.
  • To contribute to and participate in the Trust’s overall educational and events programme to engage the public with the historic environment.
  • To liaise with external partner organisations, funders and relevant networks to further the work of the Trust.
  • To supervise and support volunteers working with the Trust within the office and on project delivery as appropriate (refer to our VolunteerPolicy HTL/018)
  • To act as a representative for the Trust, promoting the image and reputation of the Trust at all times.
  • To ensure the maintenance of proper standards of work in accordance with current health and safety requirements.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities of a similar level as may from time to time be required.
  • This role will involve use of own vehicle for company business on a regular basis.
