Dear Modeling Friends,
This is the final Briefing which is full of reminders as SLC XII is upon us this very week! I hope your new projects are ready to strut on the contest table or you will have to burn some midnight oil!

In this Briefing I would like to emphasize and encourage all of you to attend the Friday Night Banquet and Auction which will start at 6:30 PM Friday, September 21and will be held at Diamond Lil’s Restaurant on 1528 West North Temple in Salt Lake City. There is no advance fee for the banquet; you will simply order off the menu and pay for your own meal at the restaurant. Their steaks are delicious so you are in for a treat.
Following dinner we will have some great models to auction off and yours truly will be the auctioneer along with a special mystery guest auctioneer. So start saving your money as some good old stuff (and maybe a few new surprises) will be up for grabs. There will be no IOUs and cash up front is preferred in lieu of checks.
Remember that the only Friday night function is the Banquet. Models will not be entered until Saturday morning. But we have a number of great airplane, armor and auto models looking for a new home!
Yes, the contest portion of the event will be held on Saturday September 22 at the Northwest Recreation Center at 300 North 1200 West. The exact address is 1255 Clark Ave., Salt Lake City, UT. Plan on entering your models in the morning starting at 8:00 and keep in mind, late-comers, that registration closes at 1:00 P.M. Judging will start in the early afternoon with an Awards Ceremony at the end at 4:00. It will be short and will only feature the Sponsor’s Choice Awards and Special Awards so you will have time to pack up your models so we can vacate the hall by 5:00.
Vendor tables are available at $30.00 per table. You can contact me at to sign up or call me at 801-262-0200. You can also call Jerry Hulshoff or Robert Cash to request a table; refer to the contest brochure for their numbers. You should plan on paying your fee first thing. The area will be open by 7:00 AM to give you time to set up by 8:00 when the main show starts.
Exclusionary rule: Remember, If a model has won a first place award or gold award or Special Award (best of class) in any prior IPMS/Salt Lake City contest, it is excluded. Placement at any other contest, including IPMS Nationals or IPMS Regionals will not be considered reason for exclusion, only prior performance in an official annual contest previously presented by IPMS/Salt Lake City. Mini contests don’t count here!
