Minutes From Previous Meeting / Action:
Agenda Items: / Action:
Playground :
The meeting with the Grounds for Learning representative in January was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
A new date has been arranged for the start of March.
Cara has spoken with Stuart Baird and a group of 8 or 9 S5 pupils are happy to be involved with building friendship benches and making the chalk boards.
This is to be a short term goal as Cara will be going on Maternity Leave at the Easter Holidays and she would like to see this completed before she goes.
Creative Wall :
Staff and pupils at Rosebank are going to come up with ideas for the wall.
Stuart Baird has suggested putting the Rosebank sign on the railings at the front of the school.
Lindsay has found two tables in the FMA shed which aren't being used. It was discussed using them in the playground and painting them with blackboard paint, for the children to use.
Football Rota:
James apologised for not arranging the Football rota and will sort one out.
Pauline will come into school to talk to the P6 and P7s regarding what they would like to play with and we could purchase new equipment such as basketball nets to give them more choice at lunchtime.
The Parent Council members present agreed to equipment being purchased up to the value of £500, as a short term goal for the P7 pupils to play with in their last few months at Rosebank. As it was noted that they have been very involved in the fundraising for improvements to the playground but will not benefit from the finished product.
Facebook Page:
It was discussed that the Rosebank Parent Council Facebook page works well as a means of communication but if members are being asked for their go ahead on a decision, could we please just give a quick yes or no in the comments section, so that the other members know that you have seen the message.
Easter Disco:
Friday 11th March
It has been agreed that there will be no nursery children at the disco as it was unmanageable with potentially 90 nursery pupils and their parents attending.
The pre-sales of tickets was a great success and it has been decided to open the doors 15 minutes before the disco starts to allow all pupils to be inside before the start.
P1-P3 disco is from 6-7pm
P4-P7 disco is from 7.15 – 8.45pm
Easter Egg Raffle:
The Raffle will be drawn on Thursday 24th March, the last day of term. Tickets will be on sale at the school discos and in the last week of term.
Rosebank T-shirts:
Pauline has spoken with Embroidery Designs and the Council members present agreed on a green colour called Kelly green with a pink iron on logo with Rosebank Primary School on the back. The t-shirt with logo is £6.50 per shirt.
The next date is the MacRobert Cup on 23rd March and we hope the 20 shirts will be ready before then.
Funding Group:
Lesley has asked the council members if there could be a separate group for looking and dealing with Funding issues and Grants regarding the playground. as she is concerned that she may overlook deadlines for applications etc due to her work commitments and family life.
Kristina has volunteered but she will also need help. Perhaps other members not present might be interested in helping her with this task? All help gratefully received!
