Hearme, O Lord!

Lord, I call upon You, hear me!

Receive the voice of my prayer,

when I call upon You!//

Hearme, O Lord!

Let my prayer arise

in Your sight as incense,

and let the lifting up of my hands

be an evening sacrifice!//

Hearme, O Lord!

v. (10) Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to Your name!

(for the Resurrection)

We offer to You, O Christ,

our evening song and reasonable service,

for You willed to have mercy on us//

by Your Resurrection.

v. (9) The righteous will surround me; for You will deal bountifully with me.

Lord, Lord, do not cast us away from Your face!

For You willed to have mercy on us//

by the Resurrection.

v. (8) Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice!

Rejoice, holy Zion!

Mother of the churches, the abode of God!

For you were the first to receive remission of sins//

by the Resurrection.

v. (7) Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!

(Resurrection stikheron by Anatolios)

The Word of God the Father,

begotten before the ages,

in the latter times willed to be incarnate of the Virgin

and endured crucifixion unto death.

He has saved mortal man//

by His Resurrection.

v. (6) If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But thereis forgiveness with You.

We glorify You, O Lord

for You voluntarily endured the Cross for our sake.

We fall down in worship before You, almighty Savior.

Do not cast us away from Your face

but hear us and save us, Lover of mankind//

by Your Resurrection!

v. (5) For Your name's sake I have waited for You, O Lord, my soul has waited for Your word; my soul has hoped on the Lord.

Tone 1(forVenerable Alypius)(O all-praised martyrs)

Omost blessed Alypius,

from your youth you offeredyour life to Christ our God,

and strengthened by Him, you submitted the passions of your body

to the will of the spirit.

Thus, you subjected that which is lower to that which is higher.//

Therefore, entreat the Lord that He grant our souls peace and great mercy!

v. (2) Praise the Lord, all nations! Praise Him, all peoples!

O Alypius, wise in God,

you were revealed to be a shining beacon,

illumining the earth with the splendor of your wonders and godly deeds./

Thus, at your repose, you were received into the presence of the never setting Sun.//

Therefore, entreat the Lord that He grant our souls peace and great mercy!

v. (1) For His mercy is abundant towards us; and the truth of the Lord endures for ever.

Owise Father Alypius,

you were truly the example of an immovable pillar to all monastics,

for, high upon your pillar, you stood in vigilant prayer,

enduring both the heat of the day and the cold of the night.

Therefore, you received the divine gifts of the Spirit

to heal infirmities and drive away evil passions. //

Therefore, entreat the Lord that He grant our souls peace and great mercy!

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

because of His love for man,

appeared on earth and dwelt with men.

Proclaiming Him as perfect God and perfect Man,

we confess Christ our God!//

Entreat him, O unwedded Mother, to have mercy on our souls!

by His Resurrection.

v. (6) If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But thereis forgiveness with You.

Tone 6(forHierarch Innocent)

Let us praise a man glorious in his being,

our father, Bishop Innocent.

The Lord has worked great glory in permitting his body to remain

incorrupt,

placing it as a lamp upon a stand,

enlightening the flock of Irkutsk with the rays of his miracles

that the memory of this righteous man should never depart,

but that his name should live from generation to generation;

that the people should come to know his wisdom,

and, beholding the holy Church,//

would ever proclaim his praise in hymns and spiritual songs.

v. (5) For Your name's sake I have waited for You, O Lord, my soul has waited for Your word; my soul has hoped on the Lord.

(Repeat: “Let us praise a man glorious …”)

v. (4) From the morning watch until night, from the morning watch, let Israel hope on the Lord!

Let us praise the new apostle of Christ

who came into a pagan land with the Gospel,

making the farthest reaches of Russia fragrant with the Faith,

which now blossoms like a lily in the Siberian east!

He rained words of heavenly wisdom in streams of grace//

upon a thirsting people!

v. (3) For with the Lord there is mercy and with Him is plenteous redemption, and He will deliver Israel from all his iniquities.

(Repeat: “Let us praise the new apostle …”)

v. (2) Praise the Lord, all nations! Praise Him, all peoples!

Like chrism, your fragrant name, O Father, is poured forth upon your

flock,

which is illumined by the rays of your good works;

upon your pious people who honor your holy memory;

and upon all Orthodox people who glorify the God of Israel

Who is wondrous in His saints.//

Pray unto Him that our souls may be saved!

v. (1) For His mercy is abundant towards us; and the truth of the Lord endures for ever.

The truth of the Lord was established in you, O Father,

as foretold by the Prophet David who proclaimed in days of old:

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree

and shall spread abroad like a cedar in Lebanon;

he shall be like a tree planted by streams of waters.”

Therefore we beseech you, O most wondrous Hierarch://

“With your prayers enlighten all of us who now sing praises to you!”

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;

Tone 8 (for Hierarch Innocent)

Holy hierarch, Father Innocent,

your life was like unto your name,

for every day of your life was whitened with innocence.

Sojourning on earth as a pilgrim and wanderer,

you received the Holy Trinity within yourself,

preparing a dwelling within your heart for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Therefore, even in the grave your holy body flourishes;

not one of your all-saving bones is broken!

We venerate your precious relics with faith for they have been glorified by

abundant healing.

We pray to you, God-pleasing and zealous Pastor,

the adornment of hierarchs:

make us also pleasing to the Holy Trinity,

Whom you glorified on earth in holiness and righteousness

and before Whom you now stand,//

ever praying for your earthly flock and the salvation of our souls!

now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Tone 8(Theotokion – Dogmatikon)

25th Sunday after Pentecost/Repose of St. Innocent the Wonderworker, Bishop of Irkutsk (1731)

Litya (If the rector desires the Litya, following the sticheron of the patron saint of the church or monastery, these stichera are sung:)

Tone 5

You are the glory of the city of Irkutsk, O Innocent.

You are the adornment of the Siberian lands.

You are the pride of the Orthodox Church.

You are the praise of Little Russia where you blossomed like a fragrant

lily;

where you were kindled, O lamp most bright;

where you were born, O son of the Kingdom of Christ.

From there you were called as an apostle,

and traveled with the Gospel from the cities to the very borders of

Mongolia.//

In life and after death you teach the enlightened nations.

You became a master of heavenly wisdom,

and learned to expound that which was heavenly,

and not that which was earthly.

You confirmed the ancient Truth of the Gospel.

You appeared as a God-bearer confirmed by the Holy Spirit.

With great zeal you walked before God, O holy Father Innocent;//

now stand before Him as an intercessor for those who honor your holy

memory.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

Tone 4

Upon you, O Saint, has rested the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding,

through Whom you have found the wisdom to save the pagans;

the Spirit of Counsel and Strength,

through Whom you gave great counsel to the prudent emperor;

the Spirit of Knowledge and Piety,

through Whom you taught those seeking a new spirit and a new heart//

to piously perceive the Holy Trinity.

now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Tone 4(Theotokion)

Look on the entreaties of your servants, O Blameless one!

Stop all the terrible attacks against us,
