A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO THANK DR. LEE ROYCE FOR HIS LEADERSHIP IN, AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO, HIGHER EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA AS PRESIDENT OF ANDERSON COLLEGE, AND WISHING HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN HIS NEW POSITION AS PRESIDENT OF MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE.
Whereas, Dr. Lee G. Royce has served as President of Anderson College since 1995; and
Whereas, under Dr. Royce’s leadership, Anderson College has experienced a fifty-two percent increase in enrollment, an eighty percent increase in the budget, endowment growth of seventy-five percent, and a doubling of funds raised for capital and annual purposes; and
Whereas, during the past seven years, Anderson College received the designation as a Teaching Fellows program from the South Carolina Department of Education while obtaining the highest selectivity rating by the Time Princeton Review of Colleges; and
Whereas, Dr. Royce has contributed greatly of his time, energy, and expertise toward making Anderson College one of the shining stars in higher education and helping higher education in the Palmetto State climb to new heights of excellence; and
Whereas, Dr. Royce will be leaving Anderson College this year to become President of Mississippi College; and
Whereas, we wish to thank him for his contributions to higher education in South Carolina and wish him well in his new endeavor. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, thanks Dr. Lee Royce for his leadership in, and contributions to, higher education in South Carolina as President of Anderson College and wishes him success and happiness in his new position as President of Mississippi College.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Lee Royce and to Diane Sutherland, Administrative Assistant to the President of Anderson College.
