PowerPoint Assignment – What’s New in Technology?

Your job is to research and report on a new piece of technology. Some sites you can look to get some ideas, or collect some research include:

www.engadget.com

www.wired.com

www.cnet.com

www.arstechnica.com

You are to create a neat, easy to read, well organized presentation that addresses the following areas (think of this list as a checklist for what your presentation needs):

1.  A hook. Start your presentation in a way to draw your audience in.

2.  Table of contents slide or an outline slide.

3.  The name of the item and the company that produces it.

4.  A history of the item or of similar items.

5.  The type of technology see… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Technology_by_type

6.  Where the item is made, and who makes it (if it is someone else).

7.  A timeline of the availability of the item.

8.  The places the item can be purchased.

9.  The cost of the item.

10.  The target market(s) for this item (who is the company trying to sell to). Be specific.

11.  Provide a detailed explanation of the item (in your OWN words).

12.  Include at least TWO examples of a chart or diagram.

13.  Prepare two discussion type questions to ask the audience.

14.  Discuss some of the reviews of the item.

15.  Pros and Cons Table

16.  Offer your own personal rating and recommendations for potential buyers.

17.  Any extra information that you feel would be helpful.

18.  Include a “WORKS CITED” page, which displays all websites you used to collect information.

All topics must be approved by Mr. Meissner. Each slideshow should be a minimum of 14 slides. The presentation will be between 8 and 12 minutes.

Be sure that your presentation is neat and professional looking (consistent colours, design, transitions and animations). Be sure to include images (framed) or other supplemental media. Edit your work carefully. Look to the marking scheme for more details.

GOOD LUCK!
