ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2017
The Teachers reported to school on the 16thJune after the summer break and children on 20th June. Rejuvenated from the much needed vacation, the school is reverberating with the enthusiasm of the students. The activities of the session have commenced in full swing.
STAFF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME:
Towards preparing the teachers for the forthcoming academic session a training workshop was conducted from 16th to 19th June. The workshop included lectures by eminent personalities in the fields concerning the teachers to improve efficiency in their day to day work. Address by chairman and vice chairman on expectations of management from teachers and guiding tips towards their grooming were also part of the workshop.
The details of the workshops conducted are included in subsequent paragraphs.
16th June 2017
The workshop began with opening address by the Principal Dr. Parul Kumar wherein she welcomed all the teachers for the new session and congratulated all of them for excellent performance of school in the previous academicyear.
The first guest speaker was Mrs. KinjalPandya who spoke about ‘Burnout’. She began with an introduction to burnout and highlighted the symptoms of the same. Thereafter she emphasized on various relaxation techniques to reduce stress and improve efficiency and cutdown burnout amongst teachers.
The second speaker of the day was MrSatishValiveti who shared his ideas on how to become a Magical teacher. He gave tips on how to keep students attentive in class and planning of class programme to maximize learning.
17th June 2017
The workshop on second day began with a lecture by the Principal DrParul Kumar. She touched upon emotional intelligence and emotional impact of environmental factors on different people. She elaborated on various types of emotions and ways to manage them effectively to one’s advantage.
Thereafter, the school special educator Mrs.Padma Raman informed teachers about Psychedelic Hues or mood changes and their impact on day to day life. She also provided tips on how to manage the mood changes and make them work for ones’ self to achieve the desired results.
The last day of theworkshop concluded with address of Vice Chairman. He shared his experience as a teacher and emphasized on various traits and skills that a teacher must possess to be a role model for students. He also advised teachers on procedures for redressal of grievances and dissuaded them from resorting to writing anonymous letters.
19th June 2017
The Staff Enrichment Programme culminated with address by the Chairman. He congratulated teachers for the school’s outstanding performance and at the same time referred to the tough competition in the other cities like Delhi. He emphasized on the holistic development of students and encouraged teachers to walk the extra mile to ensure improved performance by NCS students and to prepare them for competition beyond school. He highlighted various infrastructure improvement plans and motivated teachers to do their best. He expressed his disappointment on the rise of disciplinary issues and stressed on strict compliance of rules and regulations by the teachers.
The workshops were very thought provoking and informative and the experience was very refreshing for all the teachers.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY:
International Yoga Day was conducted on 21st June during the morning assembly. Students of both LKG and UKG participated in the event. Basic simple Aasanas were demonstrated by teachers and importance of yoga for healthy living was explained to the students.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY - EID:
A special assembly was conducted to celebrate the festival of “EID-ul-FITR” on 23rd June. The duty in-charge teachers explained the significance of the festival. It was a beautiful sight to see the little ones read and pray from the Holy Quran and dance to celebrate the festival. The assembly was conducted by Mrs. K Vani and Mrs. Devi Harikrishna in NSB and by Mrs. Bhargavi Kiran in DH.
