Games

“Recycle Run” - Mob Game

Weather permitting, play this game on the paved area in front of the hall.

Played the same as Number Run (page 19 of the Joey Scouts Mob Programming book), but replace numbers with recyclable material.

Name each Joey Scout a recyclable item:

a)  Aluminium can,

b)  Steel Can,

c)  PET Plastic

d)  Newspaper

e)  Cardboard

Sit the Joey Scouts in a circle. Name each Joey Scout as a piece of recyclable material.

Put a small beanbag or other suitable item in the centre of the circle.

The leader calls out an item (from the above list), all those Joey Scouts named that item get up and run around the circle in a clockwise direction. When they get back to their position they run into the centre of the circle and pick up the beanbag.

Once the beanbag has been retrieved, the Joeys sit down in their original places, the leader calls another item and so the game continues.

“Blindfold” - Sensory game.

Sit two Joeys Scouts in chairs approximately 3 metres apart and blindfold these Joey Scouts.

The remaining Joey Scouts are to sneak between the 2 blindfolded Joey Scouts without being caught by the seated Joeys.

The blindfolded Joeys have to try and catch the others trying to sneak between them.

It is important that the hall be kept as quiet as possible so the blindfolded Joey Scouts can listen out for any movement.

CLEAN UP AREA

Only clean up shaded area.

Do NOT cross roads or car park areas!
