Friday Nighters Constitution

Article 1 - Article l - Name, Purpose, and Non-Discrimination Policy of the Organization.

Section 1 - This is a constitution for The Friday Nighters @ OSU Hillel.

Section 2 - Our purpose to educate the general Ohio State student body about Friday nights at OSU Hillel.

Section 3 - This organization and its members shall not discriminate against any individual(s) for reasons of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

Article II - Membership: Qualifications and categories of membership.

Section 1 - Members of the Friday Nighters are frequent attendees of Friday Nights at OSU Hillel. When a member does not uphold the expectations of the group, the members of the executive leadership in consultation with their advisor may vote to remove them from the organization. If approved, the member will be immediately removed from the organization.

Article III - Organization Leadership: Titles, terms of office, type of selection, and duties of the leaders.

Section 1 - The President and Treasurer will be selected by the respective outgoing officers at the end of each academic year. Each will serve for one year.

Section 2 - The duties of the president shall include recruitment, holding group meetings, establishing a relationship with Hillel staff, and being a Master of Ceremonies for Friday Nights at Hillel.

Section 3 - The duties of the Treasurer shall include budgeting and grant proposals.

In the event that an officer does not uphold their responsibilities, the remaining member of the executive leadership in consultation with their advisor may vote to remove them from office. A replacement officer will be appointed by the executive.

Article VI – Adviser(s) or Advisory Board: Qualification Criteria.

Section 1 - The Adviser of this group should be a member of the Melton Center for Jewish Learning.

Article VII – Meetings of the Organization: Required meetings and their frequency.

Section 1 - Meetings will be held at least twice per academic quarter. Attendance is not mandatory.

Article VIII – Method of Amending Constitution: Proposals, notice, and voting requirements.

Section 1 - The Constitution shall be amended by the agreement between the advisor, the president, and the treasurer.
