The Love of Jesus
In reading the bible it does not take long for a person to realize the love of God and Jesus Christ. The bible plainly reveals this love from page to page, the unending, inexhaustible love of our Triune God. The love of Jesus was displayed to this world before the world even recognized who he was or why he came. It was the love of Jesus for this lost world that allowed him to leave heaven and take on a fleshly body. It was his unique love that swayed him to be born poor and lowly so that he could identify with the meek and lowly of this earth.
I John 4: 10
“Hereinislove, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.”
It was this endless love that prompted Jesus to trudge on in this ungodly, unloving world; one step in front of the other towards the cross of Calvary. The love of Jesus inspired him to sit among the hungry, hurting, hapless, and hopeless multitudes. It was his loved that allowed them to daily drain his fleshly strength to the point of literal exhaustion. The love of Christ prompted him to reach out and touch the lonely leper; it was the same love that healed the man that was lowered through the roof of Simon Peter’s mother-in-law’s house.
- The Proof of his Love - Undeniable
- The Plan of his Love - Unavoidable
- The Power of his Love - Unthinkable
- The Product of his Love - Unfathomable
- The Pledge of his Love - Unchangeable
If we were to question various people about their salvation experience most of us would identify with one of two objectives in our being saved. The first option would be that we got saved because we did not want to go to hell. The second option is that we got saved due to the love of God and Jesus Christ. I will be honest with you; I personally got saved because of the love of Jesus Christ. I could not fathom the thought that someone loved me just as I was; it was such an awesome thought. We need to pause and contemplate the love of Jesus Christ, what affect has it had upon your life? I will never forget, nor will I ever get past this inexhaustible love for a 19 year old sinner boy, in the hills of Georgia.
