Job responsibilities during the project stage (1987):

·  In charge of all the operations of the project of construction, commissioning and start-up of the Thermal Phosphoric acid plant for PAAD and Albright & Wilson Ltd. (Canada), in Mamonal Industrial Zone. Overseeing of all civil works and electro-mechanical erection contracts. Project logistics supervision.

·  Selection, enrolling training and managing all the personnel for the facility.

·  Design of the organizational structure, implementation of policies, procedures and controls for all the functional areas of the plant.

·  All necessary arrangements with public and private entities, obtaining permits, public utilities, etc.

·  Consulting services to General Management.

Current job responsibilities:

·  Direction of all the operations of the Cartagena plant, in charge of the areas of production, quality control and assurance, engineering support, maintenance, environment, occupational safety and health, stores & warehouse, projects security and personnel and administrative services. Originally reporting to General Management in Bogotá and, in technical issues, to Albright & Wilson Americas in Canada. Since February 1992, reporting to Operations Management in Bogotá, upon creation of this position.

·  Planning and management for production and all related areas, planning and execution of plant budget, (P&L responsibility) public and customers relations, cost follow-up and integrated control.

Special Jobs:

·  Erection and start-up of a second phosphoric acid production plant, that increased the installed capacity from 12000 MT/year to 26000 MT/year (1996).

·  Designing and implanting a quality assurance system under ISO 9000 standard for the phosphoric acid plant.

·  Technical management of a factory conformed by a continuous and a batchwise saponification plants, a glycerin plant and a vegetable oils extraction plant, these with all their ancillary installations. Maintenance, Quality Control and Safety. Development and implementation of a process control system. Control of power usage. Readjustment of the operating conditions of plant equipment, re-conditioning and improving of equipment.

·  Participation in the development of new products and new formulas for the existing products.
