GRC STUDENT GRANTS 2010-2011

The GRC Student Grants Program has been set-up to support student research at the Gerace Research Centre on San Salvador, Bahamas. These grants are designed to support undergraduate honors projects and Master's and Ph.D. Theses. These grants are for supporting independent research and are not to be used to offset the cost of participating in a class taught at the GRC. The value of the grant is $800.00, plus reduced room & board ($45.00 per night), vehicle use (free), and dive tank rental (free) while working at the GRC in the year of the award. There is no limit on the number of times a student may receive an award, however, preference will be given to those who have not been supported in the last three years. The deadline for application is January 30, 2011. Notice of awards will be sent out in early March 2011.

It will not be necessary to apply for Collecting Permits until after awardees have been selected. In the event that your advisor has a valid permit it is also possible that a new one will not be needed.

Please do not hesitate to contact the GRC if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your application.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas A. Rothfus
