Progressivism Dinner Party Project

Directions: Students will be placed in small groups of no more than 6. Each group will be tasked with creating a guest list and seating chart for a dinner party involving people of the Progressive Movement.

  1. Choose 10 people from the provided list that we have discussed in class.
  2. Place each person at a specific spot at the table
  3. Choose a style table and discuss where you wish each of your guests to sit and why.
  4. Your choice of table can express your groups desire for all to be heard or that small conversations are being held at the same time.

  1. Write 5 conversations that may be held at the dinner table.
  2. Each person must be involved in at least one of the 5 conversations. However, they all may be involved in each as well.
  3. Make sure to explain aspects of progressivism and how different movements may be interconnected.
  4. Write about why at least 3 people were not invited to the party. Be sure to explain your reasons for not involving them as it relates to your conversations.
