Dear Parents,

The fourth grade’s annual field trip to Montgomery is scheduled for March 29, 2018. We will be leaving the school in motorcoaches at 5:30 AM and will return to the school that evening at about 5:45 PM.

While in Montgomery, we enjoy a narrated bus tour of historic points in the city and will be visiting:

  • Rosa Parks Children’s Museum
  • Civil Rights Museum
  • State Capitol
  • Old Alabama Town

Attendees will need to bring a bagged lunch and drinks. We will be eating picnic-style for lunch. There is a gift shop opportunity at Old Alabama Town. As we get closer to the field trip date, a note will be sent home concerning items to bring (or not bring) on the field trip as well as the dress code for the trip.

Cost for the field trip is $67.00 per student and $74.00 per adult. This fee covers the cost of the motorcoaches as well as the entrance fees to the attractions we will be visiting.

Although parents are not required to attend, we strongly encourage your participation in this trip. It is a full day full of educational opportunity and a wonderful experience to share with your child. Younger siblings are not permitted to attend.

Permission slips and fees are due to the school no later thanMarch 9, 2018. We must pay the tour company well in advance of our field trip date. If you’d like to pay the fees in installments, that would be fine. Checks need to be made out to Council Traditional School, include your driver license number on the check. If you’d like, you may begin making installment payments immediately.

Please return the bottom portion of this letter by January 12, 2018 so that we can get a general head count for planning purposes.
