June 2016 (Staten Island, NY) —Everybody loves Manfredi! Corrado Joe Manfredi, known throughout the tri-state, and well loved in the Staten Island community, will be honored June 22nd at the Corrado Joe Manfredi “Taste of Italy” Golf Outing hosted by The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere.

Joe Manfredi first arrived in NY in 1952. The perceptive young Italian immigrant recognized that automobiles gave individuals freedom and that the unifying love of cars bridged all barriers. It was then that he made a lifelong commitment to be a part of fulfilling every American’s dream to own a car.

Manfredi’s career began at Safe Rambler Motors in Brooklyn where he worked as a mechanic in between day studies at Automotive High School and night classes in automatic transmission repair. In 1964, seven years after graduating from high school, Manfredi purchased the dealership where he worked as a teenager. Already an astute businessman, he transformed Safe Rambler into Safe Toyota; the first Toyota dealership in New York and recent winner of the Toyota President’s Award for outstanding levels of performance in all areas of operation.

A generous philanthropist and avid sportsman, Manfredi was a member of the Board of Directors of Maimonides Hospital, and in 1983, his dedication to the Brooklyn Italian American Community earned him the distinguished Man of the Year award from the Italian Board of Guardians. In 1962, Joe was instrumental in establishing the Italian American Federation, an organization that helps immigrants become accustomed to life in America.

Manfredi recognized that sports play an integral role in teaching children valuable team and leadership skills. He founded, and was President of, the Mola Sports Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the US Soccer Federation. He also served as president of the Italian-American Soccer League and the National Champion Brooklyn Italian Soccer team. In 1998 he acquired The Staten Island Vipers, an A-League Division Soccer franchise.

From a young mechanic to a successful businessman, for more than 50 years, Joe Manfredi maintained his pledge to customer service and satisfaction. Over the years he exhibited a keen business sense and a generous spirit. His success was built on a foundation of tireless dedication and honesty. Corrado Joe Manfredi earned respect from members of his community and trust from all of his customers.

While speaking about this beloved man, this year’s golf committee chairman,Sebby Cina, made this statement reiterating Mr. Manfredi’s many accomplishments. “Casa Belvedere is hosting the 4th Annual Taste of Italy Golf Outing celebrating the life and achievements of Caorrado “Joe” Manfredi for the benefit of The Italian Cultural Foundation. Mr. Manfredi, an Italian immigrant who settled in Brooklyn and later Staten Island, was and continues to be many things to many people. He was a dedicated husband; father, brother, uncle and grandfather while becoming an accomplished businessman, community leader, and role model to many on Staten Island.

It would be ambitious; to say the least, to attempt to list his accomplishments and accolades, however, Corrado Manfredi was driven by what he could give to others. He had an understanding that awards and accomplishments will fade and you can’t take them with you but the opportunities and good deeds which you can bestow on others will last multiple generations and surpass time.

The Italian Cultural Foundation not only wishes to celebrate his life and spirit, we wish to embody his passion for his heritage and Italian history, to continue his legacy as we continue his work, and to develop a network of the next generation of young Italian Americans to follow in his footsteps.”

The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere is happy to announces that it will host this year’sCorrado Joe Manfredi“Taste of Italy” Golf Outing on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Silver Lake Golf Course, located at 915 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10301.
