Thank you for your interest in our Planit Solutions training opportunities. In order to provide you with the appropriate and required training, please review the information in this Training Request Packet, which is intended to guide you through the enrollment process for our training classes. Should you have any questions or concerns about the training options, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
The Planit Solutions Training Request form on page 6 & 7 of this document must be filled out completely and accompanied by either an official Purchase Order, and/or by payment in full. Be sure to print your purchase order number, the number of attendees, and the names of these attendees on your reservation form.
The Alphacam training courses will be conducted at a Planit Solutions Inc. Training Facility. Our three locations include Charlotte, North Carolina, Forest Lake, Minnesota and Carlsbad, California. Included with this Training Request Packet is a tentative schedule of upcoming Alphacam training classes. Schedules of dates and locations are subject to change, as we require a minimum of 3 students per course. Please contact Planit Solutions Inc. at (800) 280-6932 with any questions about class schedules and locations, or with any subsequent changes in plans for attendees from your company.
The decision to cancel a particular class will be made approximately two weeks prior to the tentatively scheduled class dates. Customers will be contacted at that time should a scheduled class need to be cancelled. This should provide adequate time to pre-book any necessary travel arrangements. We strongly recommend that you make your travel arrangements only after the cancellation time period. Once the minimum class size has been reached, all those who have been tentatively scheduled will be contacted with exact dates, times, and locations of training, along with a map to the selected training facility.
When you have determined the training options that best fit your needs, please fill out and return the completed Planit Solutions Training Request and Payment Method and Terms forms to my attention.
Once the completed forms have been returned and processed, we will contact you directly with tentative training dates, times, and locations.

Skills Levels Needed by Class Attendees
Alphacam training courses are designed to help users implement the use of Alphacam software into their manufacturing environment. Course content is adjusted to suit the general capabilities of trainees. However, it is essential for individuals who attend our courses to possess certain fundamental skills and experience. This ensures all attendees gain a standard and consistent level of training excellence from Alphacam. In efforts to ensure that all attendees return to their organizations capable of performing required programming tasks using Alphacam, all attendees must meet the following requirements.
Hardware Skills
· Basic computer skills applicable to simple computer operation.
· The layout of the standard keyboard and the location and use of the following keys: Tab, Delete, Backspace, Esc, Alt and Ctrl keys, the number keypad and keys associated with the basic math functions such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
· How to use a mouse and its buttons, the mouse pointer and the proper way to position the pointer on the screen for selecting or windowing a selection box.
· The terminology used in relation to the mouse such as click and double click, drag and drop, cut and paste, and move and copy, and the ability to perform such tasks with the mouse.
Software Skills
Alphacam runs only in Microsoft Windows 32/bit operating environments, such as Windows NT, XP, Vista and 2000. However, in keeping in line with Microsoft, Planit supports Windows XP and Vista Business and/or Ultimate environment only. We do not support Vista Home Edition. Every prospective trainee must be familiar with the use of the Windows interface. This familiarity must include:
· The location and use of the Start Menu, Taskbar, and application icons.
· How to open an application, minimize it to the Taskbar and maximize it from the Taskbar.
· How to start an application from a shortcut or from the Start menu.
· How to start Microsoft Windows Explorer and use it to manage and find the files and folders on the computer.
· How to set options to show or hide the three-letter filename extensions.
· How to copy a file to a floppy disc and from the floppy to the correct path on the hard drive.
Machine Tool Skills
All trainees must have a basic working knowledge of their CNC machine tool and its control unit such as: the loading of programs, the setting of tool lengths and offset registers, and so on.
Students, who do not possess the minimum requirements as described above, would struggle to keep pace with the practical application portion of the training. This will frustrate the other students attending the course who do possess such competence. Progress in the class would inevitably be reduced by the inability of an unqualified student to keep up with the pace of our courses. Accordingly, we will not accept students into training courses who do not meet the pre-requisites for the class.
Any individual, who arrives for training and does not possess these pre-requisite skills and knowledge, will not be permitted to attend the training and the payment made for the course will be forfeited.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
· Alphacam training courses are scheduled throughout the year. The schedule is subject to change.
· Depending on location, attendance at any class is limited to a maximum of six to eight trainees to ensure that every trainee receives sufficient personal attention.
· Computers, software, and workbooks will be provided for the class while training.
· Courses run from 9:00 am promptly to 4:00 pm each day. Trainees are requested to arrive between 8:30am and 8:45am. Trainees are entirely responsible for all travel, meal and accommodation expenses.
· Training course fees for all scheduled Standard, Advanced and Specialty courses are listed on the training course reservation form in this packet.
· Training course reservations must be made using the official Alphacam Training Course form, located on page six of this packet. Please print the names of the intended trainee(s). The form must be accompanied by payment in full of the cost of the reserved course(s). Named trainees booked on training courses may be substituted without notification free of charge.
· All cancellations of training course reservations must be advised in writing by letter, fax, or email two weeks prior to the reserved training course commencement date to:

· Planit Solutions Inc. reserves the right to retain 50% of the fees paid for any reserved training course place(s) where notice of cancellation is not received as described above. Where a trainee fails to attend the entire payment is forfeited.

This class is not designed for Alphawindoor users or potential Alphawindoor users.
The Design Constraint Manager in Alphacam Advanced Modules allows us to take charge of how our sketches react when elements within the sketch are modified. Element lengths and distances between elements can be driven by parameters and the sketch re-solved instantly. This is an excellent tool for any manufacturer making families of parts with dimensional changes. Fully constraining a sketch eliminates distortion of the shape when dragging. We can also drive the behavior with Parameters set at values. These can control dimensions of length, distance, angle and radius values, etc.
