November 7, 2012 Booster Meeting Minutes

I.  Welcome

Sandra Knott, President of the Booster Club, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Roll Call: Stefani Stuckey, Laurie Carr, Sandra Knott, Coach Adams, Greg Twaites, Jennifer Pinnow, Dawn Igoe, Karen Collins, Becky Busho, Brian Fahey Bleick, Lisa Fahey Bleick

II.  Review and Approval of October 3, 2012 meeting minutes

October 3, 2012 meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

III.  Treasurer’s Report

Carla was unable to attend so will send the treasurer’s report to the Board for review.

IV.  Captains’ Comments

No captains present.

V.  Coaches’ Comments

Coach Adams congratulated the 2013 captains: Maddie Bleick, Kaylie Hanson and Marisa Knott. He has attended all of the teams’ banquets over the last few weeks and was extremely impressed at the work that went into the banquets. He said they were outstanding.

Schedules for next season have just been finalized and will be published on the website soon. A couple of changes will be made. Four teams will travel to Duluth East to play on Tuesday, 8/27: Varsity, JV, Sophomore and Freshman Blue. Varsity and JV will still have their Fri/Sat Duluth trip to play Cloquet and Hermantown. We will also be adding Northfield and Armstrong.

Varsity will be getting new uniforms before next season. Coach Adams will bring uniform information to a future booster club meeting. Current varsity uniforms will be passed to JV.

Please let Coach Adams know if there are things that are working well within the program or things that could be improved.

VI.  Committee Reports

·  Community Night/Homecoming/Senior Night – Chair: Jennifer Pinnow, Co-Chair: Becky Busho

·  Publicity/Street Signs – Open Positions – Varsity Parents for 2013, Jennifer Pinnow

o  Several yard signs were ordered and need to be sold. Price is $20 each.

·  Game Banners for Varsity Games – Captains & Captains Parents

·  Ball Girls – Chair: Gretchen Scheffel Co-Chair: Laurie Carr

·  Leprechaun Days – Captains

·  Clothing - Captains

o  Need to discuss possibly changing vendors for next year.

o  Complaints on how long the items took to arrive and the quality of the clothes.

·  Game Concessions & Varsity Scrimmage Concessions – Amy Billings & Dawn Igoe

·  Wreath Sales – Carla Grausnick, Sandra Knott, Kris Hanson – Open Positions for 2013

o  Nov 16th is delivery date\Nov 17th is pick up date

o  Location for distribution: home of Brenna Sullivan – list serve will go out with address and directions

·  Alumni Game – Chair: Janie Leininger Co-Chair: Wendy Ojala

·  Duluth Trip – Chair: Jason Hill Co-Chair: Open position for 2013 (JV or Varsity parent)

o  Hotel reservations made for Comfort Inn-Canal Park

·  Teacher Appreciation Night – Chair: Janie Leininger Co-Chair: Jen Pinnow

·  Photographer – Deb Johnson

·  Video Taping – Open position for 2013

o  Brian Fahey-Bleick has been recording away games and uploading to HUDL. Mr. Jim Norris from RHS has coordinated with us on recording the home games.

·  Mentor Program – Chair: Open for 2013

o  Feedback from freshman and varsity players was good.

VIII.  New Business

Need better definition of what the role of the team parent is. Will potentially have a meeting right after teams are announced for all team parents to help with this – team bonding events, team banquet, website, etc.
