RESULTS for the 2nd ANNUAL ST. PATRICKS DAY
RUN TIL YOU’RE GREEN Three Mile

We had perfect weather this year, and a record turnout of 107
participants for the second annual RTYG!
The men’s race was a thrilling back and forth three-man battle.
36yr old Allister Knox of Kihei (via New Zealand) put the hammer
down from the start, leading though mile splits of 5:14 and 10:40, with
37yr old Sam Wilbur of Kihei and 20yr old Samuel Bradley-Kelly of
Seattle hanging just a few seconds back. Wilbur moved past Knox
with a half mile to go and pulled away to a seven second win, in
16:13. Knox held off the hard-charging Bradley-Kelly 16:20 to 16:21
for 2nd and 3rd. All three were under the previous Course Record of
16:34.
The women’s race saw 30yr old Lindsey Wilbur of Kihei easily
crush the field to win by nearly forty seconds in a Course Record
19:38. The Wilbur’s each garnered $100 and a big beer mug for their
victories.
Some notable age-group performances:
50yr old Nick Kalnieta charged to an early lead, and ran a solid 18:23.
57yr old Randy Isaac ran 19:07
67yr old Woody Paylor of Kihei ran 22:04
And 8yr old Alexander Fahland ran 23:41 winning for 17 and unders!
Much respect to Patricia Phillips, our oldest competitior, finishing in
39:05 at age 73! And way to go to 4yr old John Chapman, who made
it all the way out and back in just over an hour!
