OBERLIN (www.oberlin.edu/allenart)—The Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College is pleased to welcome Chung-Lan Wang and Jason Trimmer to the staff. Dr. Wang, a new Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow this semester, is based in the museum, and will teach a range of courses using the AMAM’s Asian collection. Mr. Trimmer is the new Curator of Education. He began his new post on September 18th.

The AMAM collaborated with the East Asian Studies Program and the Art Department to hire a new Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Chung-Lan Wang has been awarded a two-year Andrew W. She received her B.A. from National Taiwan University, her M.A. in Art History from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in 2005 from Yale University. At Yale, she wrote her dissertation on the 17th-century Chinese painter Gong Xian. As a research assistant at the Yale University Art Gallery, she contributed catalogue entries to the exhibition The Jade Studio: Masterpieces of Ming and Qing Painting and Calligraphy from the Wong Nan-ping Collection (1994) and was a contributor to the Yale University Art Gallery Bulletin. The Mellon Fellowship program is supported by an endowed fund created with leadership grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and Oberlin alumni.

Jason Trimmer came directly from The Regina Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University, New York where he was Curator of Exhibitions and Arts in Education Coordinator. He was responsible for the oversight of all facets of exhibition installations, and coordinated the Center’s efforts to enhance out reach to the community through Arts-in-Education, as well as organizing lectures, film series and panel discussions for the general public. Other experience includes a teaching Assistantship in the Art History survey lectures at Ohio University, and a museum education internship at the Art institute of Chicago. Jason received his B.F.A. in Art History and Studio Art, graduating cum laude, and his M.F.A. in Art History, Modern and Contemporary Art, both from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. His Masters thesis was titled Iron Dialogue: The Artistic Collaboration of Pablo Picasso and Julio González.
