Joey Scouts

Promise Challenge Badge

South Metropolitan Region

Application Form

The aim of this challenge is to allow the older Joey Scout (must be 7 years of age to

start the Promise Challenge) to gain a greater understanding of the Promise and Law

and to learn about B-P and the history of Scouting.

The Promise Challenge must be the best work that the Joey Scout can do. As this is the highest award in the Joey Scout section, it is expected that the presentation of the challenge should be of an appropriate standard. NSW Branch has advised that the Promise Challenge should be presented in a slip in folder. A presentation on cardboard is also acceptable. Photographs of the Joey Scout carrying out the service component of this challenge should also be included.

Each Promise Challenge is to be signed off by the Joey Scout Leader using the orange card (available from South Met Region website or the South Coast Scout Shop).

Once the Promise Challenge has been completed, the Promise Challenge, along with this Promise Challenge application form, and cash or cheque (made payable to Scout Association of Australia – NSW) for $5.00 is to be handed to the RCJS at Wandarrah.

Joey Leaders must ensure that all applications reach their RCJS before the end of the month so that their Promise Challenge and certificate can be included in the batch that will be generated in the first week of the following month.
