Lesson:1) Introduce volume of spheres.Update notes with sphere and hemisphere formula.
2) Use examples on Textbook PG. 496 and 497 to model finding volume of spheres and hemispheres.
3) Guided Practice : Got it problems on Pg. 497/498
Independent Practice:Pg. 498 #1-5
(Stress on showing steps: Formula, substitute solve)

Lesson Procedures:
Warm-up: over volume of 3-D solids

Lesson:
Activity - Building prisms exploration activity:Students will work in groups of 3 to explore and find the surface area of a prism. (Daily grade)
1) Build a triangular prism, hexagonal prism and a rectangular prism.(10 minutes)
2) Open the prism and trace the net of each prism using ruler on the activity sheet. (10 minutes)
3) Measure the side lengths of each shape using a ruler to the nearest half of a cm and label the sides.
4) Find the area of each shape and write down the areas inside the shapes.
5) Find the total surface area by adding all the areas together.

Lesson:
1)Pass back and go over the building prisms activity.
2) Use ppt 7-4 to practice finding surface area of prisms - white board practice. Use calculator and formula chart. Use different colored highlighters to shade the base of the prism and the height of the prism. Stress on writing down the steps (Formula, substitute, solve).
Independent Practice:Pg. 514 #1-3
Homework: Pg. 515-516 # 1-13 / Mathematics, Grade 7 Pre-AP
