Summer Conference Adult Advisor Expectations

It is the expectation that all coaches, chaperones, etc. have read and understand these guidelines. It is the responsibility of the Conference Director to communicate these guidelines and expectations to their adult advisors and youth guests.Summer Conference Adult Advisors expectations while staying at ColoradoMountainCollege – Spring ValleyCenter are as follows:

  1. Adult advisors are expected to supervise youths at all times. This includes the dining room, and all interior and exterior residence hall spaces, all interior and exteriorcampus areas, and recreational facilities.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to know and enforce all Residence Hall policies. (See web for adult and youth regulations)
  1. Adult advisors are expected to maintain orderly and respectful behavior of their youth group so that other individuals or groups dining or residing in the hall are not disturbed or disrupted.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to deter behavior that may cause personal injury or physical damage to College property. Any damage to residence hall and/or campus property must be reported to conference staff immediately. A damage charge will be assessed to the individual or conference.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to keep physical or recreational activities in outside areas. No games should be played in the residence hallways.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to monitor group activities and supervise clean up of work areas.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to enforce curfew and “lights out” rules, if applicable.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to do room checks, which should include strict enforcement checking to insure that furniture is kept in appropriate areas and that screens are not removed from the windows.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to deter roommate switching (all room changes must be approved by the Coordinator of Summer Conferences).
  1. Adult advisors are expected to counsel youth as roommate conflicts occur.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to enforce food and drinks in designated areas only- no dishes removed from cafeteria.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to help move youth to designated safe areas in the event of an emergency.
  1. Adult advisors are expected to relay check out procedures to youth guests to insure a quick and seamless check out.
