Deutsch 3Willkommen im Deutschunterricht!Mrs. Snell

Room A-2082014-2015

The information below is to help ensure that you will learn as much German as possible during this school year. Learning to speak and understand German requires memorization and practice. You will be asked to memorize much vocabulary accurately and also to practice using that vocabulary. How much you learn depends on how much of an effort you make. At the end of this school year, this class will be taking an exam comparable to the former NYS German Regents Exam. To be successful, you must work hard all year.

COURSE CONTENT: We will learn how to communicate about many new topics, using much new vocabulary and many new structures. We will learn all four cases in German (nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive) and when to use them. We will review present tense and present perfect (the spoken past tense) and we will learn the simple past tense (the written past tense) of common verbs, and the future tense. We will also learn command forms, prepositions, conjunctions, the strange German word order, and much more. You will increase your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills and your cultural knowledge of all the German-speaking countries. You will acquire the ability to engage in everyday conversations and to read authentic materials pertaining to everyday life.
