Gospel theme: In DeuteronomyGod promises to raise up a prophet like Moses, who will speak for God; in Psalm 111God shows the people the power of God’s works. For the church these are ways of pointing to the unique authority people sensed in Jesus’ actions and words. We encounter that authority in God’s word, around which we gather, the word that trumps any lesser spirit that would claim power over us, freeing us to follow Jesus.

A SEASON OF HOPE
This Lent, we’re joining Lutheran World Relief in A SEASON OF HOPE to announce to the world the HOPE of Christ. Each week, we’ll collect an item that we’ll use to assemble Personal Care Kits that give people around the world tools to stay healthy in life’s most challenging situations.
Our goal is to assemble 50 LWR Personal Care Kits during Lent.
Here’s our collection schedule:
February 18 – Bars of soap (4 to 5 oz., any brand, in original wrapping)
February 25 – Bath towels (light-weight, maximum 52” x 27”, dark color recommended)
March 4 – Toothbrushes (adult size in individual original packaging)
March 11 – Bath towels (light-weight, maximum 52” x 27”, dark color recommended)
March 18 – Toothbrushes (adult size in individual original packaging)
March 25 (Palm Sunday) - Bars of soap (4 to 5 oz., any brand, in original wrapping)
By making LWR Personal Care Kits, we can help create a lasting SEASON OF HOPE. Please join us on this Lenten journey!
