THE REMNANT

This is a brief article/study introduction on the subject of the remnant of Elohim’s people in the last days. Use this information for your further study on the subject of the ones who overcome—the ones who endure to the end—the ones who will survive and be alive when the Messiah of Israel comes.

He always brings a remnant out of destruction. If not, He would have destroyed all of His people long ago. But, He made an unconditional covenant with Abraham, which He reinforced with Isaac and Jacob and Jacob’s twelve sons and their descendants. For the sake of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He has guarded His covenant and will guard it, and bring forth from the descendants of Jacob in our day—a remnant of all the twelve tribes—a remnant who will love Him, fear Him, obey Him, and be faithful to Him through tribulation, who will remain alive until the coming of the earthly Kingdom at Messiah’s return.

He has always spared a remnant, no matter how small. Noah and his family were a remnant of eight—that were delivered through the flood of judgment.

He delivered a remnant of the house of Israel--scattered into all nations, which now number in the billions. He delivered a remnant of the house of Judah from Babylon, which today number approximately twelve million. Out of this remnant of the whole house of Jacob—all the tribes—He will bring a small remnant, a very small remnant, through the tribulation days to come, to preserve His set-apart ones on this earth until His coming. (Matthew 24:21-25) He will resurrect the righteous remnant from the days of Seth (Adam’s righteous son) until now, in the resurrection of the justified—and these will enjoy His salvation and His Kingdom on earth forever.

He made no covenant with gentiles, but any of the gentiles (heathen, barbarians and pagans) who want to get in on the covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as always since Exodus 12, they can come in through faith and obedience to the Father, Yahuweh, and to Yahushua the Messiah. (Jeremiah 31:31-34) Therefore, He has a remnant from among the gentiles who will love Him and obey Him throughout eternity, by their faith in Messiah Yahushua.

The remnant from the time of righteous Seth--carried the righteous seed through the bloodline of Adam, through Noah, to Abraham and on and on. There has always been a remnant of the righteous, set-apart ones that Yahuweh has used to bring forth today a small but set-apart people unto Himself—whom Yahushua will marry as His beloved Bride at His coming.

This bride is “blameless” before the throne of Yahuweh. She has been marked and set-apart for preservation through the tribulation. (Ezekiel 9:4; Revelation 9:4; Deuteronomy 15:16-17; Revelation 3:12; Revelation 7:1-8; 12:17; 14:1-5, 14:12; Revelation 22:3-4, and 14, as examples)

Right now, there is a remnant of people on earth who will resist the control of the world government, economic system and unified religion. Most of these will be martyred, or killed in some fashion for resisting the domination of the world rulers, and for refusing to worship the chief world ruler, who will rule from Jerusalem. (Revelation 13:13-18) These are believers in Messiah Yahushua, and also who guard the Torah (Instructions and teachings of Yahuweh)—as per Revelation 12:17, 14:12.

The word remnant simply means the ones left over—like a piece of cloth left over from a bolt of yards of cloth is called “a remnant” in the fabric stores.

In Exodus 26:12 we read: “And the overlapping part of the rest of the curtains of the Tent…shall hang over the back of the Dwelling Place”. (The Scriptures)

The King James Version uses the word “remnant”: “And the remnant that remains of the curtains of the Tent…”

The words in The Scriptures for “the overlapping part of the rest” is “remnant” – and is #5629 in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Hebrew Dictionary, and means: “to extend exceedingly, to stretch out”. The stretching out of the curtains caused them to extend exceedingly over the back part of the Dwelling Place—the Tabernacle in the wilderness.

And indeed He is now stretching out and extending His remnant, His set-apart ones, in these last days, throughout all the earth to fulfill His purposes and His plans for the final things before Messiah Yahushua comes to establish His earthly Kingdom. This remnant is being stretched exceedingly. Those who are pliable, flexible, and easily managed—easily stretched by the Spirit of Yahuweh--will be used by Him mightily. Those who are rigid, stubborn, lazy, apathetic, fearful, and who “draw back” will be unusable. I see so many of His people, good people, drawing back—not in their beliefs, but because they do not want Him to take them from their comfort zone. It is hard on us when He stretches us exceedingly. But, if we will allow Him to do this, we will be mightily used in His Kingdom to come.

The remnant is set-apart: Leviticus 11:43-45; 19:1; 20:7-8, 24-26; Isaiah 8:13; I Peter 1:16. From these Scriptures we see that the set-apart ones are not defiled—they do not mix what is of the world and pagan religion of man’s creation with what is of Yahuweh and His set-apart Torah. Yahuweh is set apart, thus so are His remnant. This is why He spares them. The primary outward sign of set-apartness is the Scriptural guarding of His Shabbat (Friday night at sundown to Saturday night at sundown)—which is prophetic of the Kingdom of Messiah in the “seventh day” or 7-thousandth year since creation.

Hebrews 12:25-29: “Take heed not to refuse the One speaking. For if those did not escape who refused the warning on earth (Yahuweh’s warnings through Moses’ in the wilderness) much less we who turn away from Him from heaven,

whose voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised saying, `Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven’. And this, `Yet once more, making clear the removal of what is shaken—as having been made—SO THAT THE UNSHAKEN THINGS MAY REMAIN. Therefore, receiving an unshakable Kingdom, let us hold the favor, through which we serve Elohim with reverence and awe, for indeed, our Elohim is a consuming fire”.

II Thessalonians 4:16-17: “Because the Master Himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch angel, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. Then we, who are ALIVE AND REMAIN, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air—and so we shall always be with the Master”.

Zechariah 12:10: “And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayers. And they shall look upon Me, whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son”.

There will be a remnant of Judah that will receive Messiah as Savior at His coming. The southern Kingdom was mainly comprised of Judah (Jews) and Levi (the priesthood), and a few from the tribe of Benjamin, who lived just north of Jerusalem. Yahuweh is restoring now, a remnant of Judah and of the northern ten tribes of Israel—the house of Ephraim/Joseph, to the Land. Judah comes back first as per Zechariah 12:7, and then the whole house joins Judah (Zechariah 8:20-23). The major focus of the Father now is the return of a remnant, representing the whole house of Israel (Jacob) to the Land before Messiah comes. At Messiah’s coming the whole remnant, past and present, will go with Messiah into His Kingdom—most rising in the first resurrection, but also those alive and remaining, rising to meet Him as He returns. As He puts His foot on the Mount of Olives, ALL THE SET-APART ONES will be with Him. (Zechariah 14:1-5; Jude 1:14-15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:24-29; Daniel 12:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-58; Revelation 11:15-19; Philippians 3:20-21; Acts 1:9-11; Isaiah 26:19; plus over 200 other passages regarding His return throughout the Bible)

The gathering of His people into ONE Kingdom once again is the primary focus and theme of the whole Bible. Ezekiel 37 and many passages like it, tell us that He is focused on the returning and redemption of a remnant of the whole house of Jacob—restoring the two separate kingdoms of Judah and Israel in Messiah.

Israel was scattered into all nations of the earth between about 950BCE to their final scattering in 722BCE. Judah was scattered at different times, from 586BCE, 70CE and finally from 132CE. Yahuweh is bringing back a remnant now to their inheritance land. This is considered the greatest exodus of all time--out of all nations—greater than the exodus of Exodus 12-14 (Jeremiah 16:14-16), and it will occur very soon.

Page 3

The greatest punishment Yahuweh could give His people was to drive them from their inheritance land. In the following Scriptures, see the terms “that day”, “in that day”, the “day of Yahuweh”, “in that day and at that time”, “in the latter years”, “in the latter days”—these all refer to our day—the day of the coming of Messiah.

For several years now, the Father has sent me into many nations at different times to intercede before Him for the remnant in those nations—to call forth the protection of that remnant, and for their strengthening and perfecting, so that they will be mighty in Him. We see a picture of this remnant in Revelation 7:1-8 and 14:1-5. He is calling many now to intercede before Him on behalf of those few remaining ones that He will use mightily in the coming days.

This group, known as His end-time remnant, includes: 1) The marked Bridal remnant. 2) The Jewish remnant, who will be preserved in Jerusalem and/or Edom, who will receive their Messiah at His coming. 3) A remnant of many who will survive the coming world holocaust and be taken as survivors to Edom (Southern Jordan) to the place of refuge, mentioned second only to Jerusalem in these last days. Some will be believers, some will be wicked, some will become believers in Messiah as a result of the true believers witness.

I look out over the Red Sea and the Port of Aqaba, realizing that hundreds of thousands of refugees will be coming from all over the world in the days ahead. (If you do not have the article: “Important Instructions Regarding the Re-gathering and the Preservation of the Tribes of Jacob”, please ask for it, regarding the preserving of a remnant in the land of Edom/Petra/Mt. Seir/Sela).

Since everyone who does not receive the “mark of the beast” system—economic mark—will be killed, the surviving remnant that flees to Edom will be very small. Yet, within this remnant are many believers whom He will protect during the 3 ½ years of tribulation. The Bridal remnant on the other hand, will be very mobile, and will be moving supernaturally throughout the earth to do His work, until the very end, when the wrath of the Father is poured out on the wicked. This remnant will do exploits by His power (Daniel 11:32).

Isaiah 1:9: “Unless Yahuweh of hosts had left to us a small remnant, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

Isaiah 10:20-23: “And in that day, it shall be that the remnant of Israel and those who have escaped of the house of Jacob, never again lean upon him who defeated them, but shall lean upon Yahuweh, the Set-Apart One of Israel in truth. A remnant shall return, the remnant of Jacob to the Mighty El. For

though Your people O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return—a decisive end, overflowing with righteousness. For the Master Yahuweh of hosts is making a complete end, as decided, in the midst of all the earth.”

Isaiah 11:11-12: “And it shall be in that day that Yahuweh sets His hand again a second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left…and He shall raise a banner for the nations, and gather the outcasts of Israel, and assemble the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth”.

Isaiah 28:5-6: “In that day, Yahuweh of hosts is for a crown of splendor and a head-dress of comeliness to the remnant of His people, and a spirit of right-ruling to him who sits in right-ruling, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate”.

NOTE: Isaiah 28:5-6 and Amos 5:15 and 6:3-7 have been main passage of Scripture for eight years, for intercession over the Port of Aqaba. Through this Port—called by the international the “Peace Port”, will come hundreds of thousands of His people of the house of Israel and the house of Judah fleeing out from the nations—a remnant that He is bringing to Edom for preservation. The house of Joseph/Israel/Ephraim--the ten northern tribes, called “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” were scattered into all nations because of their idolatry against Yahuweh. The word for “strength” in Hebrew is “Geber”. It is part of the ancient name of Aqaba, which is mentioned in Deuteronomy 2:8 and I Kings 9:26-28—“Ezion Geber” means: “The backbone of the mighty warrior”. In Hebrew the word “gate” means “seaport, land border, gate or door”. Yahuweh has those interceding for this remnant of the house of Israel, returning after 2,700 years of captivity back to Him. Amos 5:15 and 6:3-7 speak of interceding for the house of Joseph—setting up “right ruling in the gate”. The “right rulings” are His Torah—the Teachings and Instructions of the Kingdom of Heaven. There will be a great battle at this gate of Aqaba/Eilat—and we must pray for the protection of the remnant of His people who will flee out of all nations.

Isaiah 37:31-32, 35: “And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem comes forth a remnant, and those who escape from Mount Zion—the zeal of Yahuweh of hosts does this...and I shall defend this city (Jerusalem) to save it for My own sake and for the sake of My servant David.” (Italics mine)
