ABOUT THE SYDNEY FRINGE
Now in it’s eighth year the Sydney Fringe Festival is the largest independent arts festival in NSW. Spread across five cultural villages, the Sydney Fringe presents over 300 productions in over 50 venues every September, celebrating local artists and encouraging new audiences to experience the independent arts of Sydney in order to build astronger, more sustainable sector.
Growing in footprint and diversity we truly are Sydney’s festival. With events spread out across our sprawling city, the festival celebrates, and highlights the amazing work of our local independent artists, art makers and performers. Inviting our audiences to visit undiscovered parts of the city, a new venue or a secret bar, and discover the fantastic creative offerings our artists prepare year-round.
Assisting artists is at the forefront of everything we do. The Fringe offers a professional platform from which emerging, early career and professional artists can promote their work to new audiences. The Fringe strives to ensure that all artists have a wonderful Fringe experience, we believe that Sydney's independent artists are what makes this city so great, and as such are dedicated in promoting the independent sector to Sydney's mainstream audiences.
To create a terrific Fringe experience for artists it is vital that care is also taken with maintaining venue relationships and striving for audience satisfaction. The Sydney Fringe team goes to extreme lengths to ensure that audiences, artists and venues have a successful festival experience; this is the essence of what makes the Sydney Fringe so unique and is essential to the success of our festival.
