In my first grade classroom I have planned and taught several Math and Literacy lessons. Myself as a Learner

I am a hands-on learner, who benefits the most from personal experiences. I feel that during my time at MSU I have learned the most about myself as a future teacher via the classrooms I have been placed in, and the responsibilities I have been given at these placements.

Personal Interests

In High School I was very involved in my school’s sports teams. I was on the Okemos Cross Country team, as well as the Soccer team. On the off seasons I played Indoor Soccer. My hobbies include scrapbooking, photography, and running.

Personal Goals

During my internship year I would like to gain experiences for teaching in a public school. I would like to learn how to plan and implement teaching units based on a variety of themes and ideas. I would also like to learn more about general classroom management. In the future I hope to teach in a urban public school; although I would enjoy the experience of teaching in a rural school as well. In my future classroom I hope to provide my students with an integrated curriculum based on a variety of themes and ideas. My main goals in life are to provide all of my students with the necessary tools they will need to succeed in the future, as well as create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
