* Rising Juniors are eligible to apply for both scholarships – however, students who would like to be considered for the both the Summer and Hospes scholarships should submit both applications.

This application must include your academic advisor's signature and must be returned to Professor Kapczynski, German Department, Box 1104, by Friday, January 25, 2013. A transcript must accompany your application. The Undergraduate Committee will review all applications and inform you of acceptance by mid-February.

Final payment will be billed to your account by March 2013. Upon remittance of final payment the regulations of the Goethe Institute apply regarding refunds for illness or no shows.

I understand that my acceptance into the Washington University Summer German Program depends completely upon the recommendation of the committee appointed to examine and pass upon my application. Furthermore, I understand that the credits awarded me for my study in Göttingen are based upon my performance there and the recommendation of the faculty member in residence. I agree to fulfill all the regulations, financial and otherwise, established by the Washington University German Department in cooperation with the Goethe Institut.

You will receive up to 8 (eight) hours of credit for the summer in Göttingen. These will count toward a major or minor only if they are awarded on the 300 or 400 level. The level of credits will depend on the course you take at the Goethe Institute. The number of hours will be based on your successful completion of the course of study in Göttingen and will be awarded on the recommendation of the Washington University faculty member in residence at the Goethe Institute. Attendance is required!
