Alpha Theta Chapter

Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization for women educators, is seeking recipients for two $500 college scholarships. To be eligible each student must meet the following criteria:

1. A high school senior graduating in 2016 and in the upper one third of his or her

graduating class.

2. Student is pursuing an education major.

3. A graduate from one of the following high schools:

  • Detroit Lakes
  • Frazee
  • Hawley
  • Lake Park-Audubon
  • Park Rapids
  • Pelican Rapids
  • Perham-Dent
  • Ulen-Hitterdal
  • Waubun

Official Rules:

You must be in the upper one-third of your graduating class.

You must be pursuing an education major with the intention of

college degree.

Before you receive the scholarship award, you must have

successfully completed one graded term of college.

You must furnish an official transcript identifying completion of

the previous term in college.

Application Procedure:

The following must be sent to the scholarship committee:

Official application form (copies acceptable) which include:

Honors and awards

Extracurricular activities in school and community

Work experience

Official transcript of high school grades

Statement of personal and professional goals in education (one

page, typed and double spaced)

Three recommendations (sent directly to the scholarship

committee) one must be from a faculty member

A photograph (optional)

Judging based on:

Scholarship

Leadership

Involvement in school and community activities

Career goals in education
