Math Portfolio Outline

What is it?

A part of this semester’s mark will be earned through the completion of a Math Portfolio. This Portfolio will be a sample of your tests, quizzes, assignments, and class work throughout the semester, and will be used to help you write your final exam.

What does it look like?

Your portfolio must be kept in a duotang or, preferably, a floppy 3-ring binder (Dollar Store). The first page will be a cover page, followed by a table of contents where you will list the entries in your portfolio. Each chapter we cover will be a section of your portfolio – Chapters 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 – for a total of 5 sections. Each section will need to include a 1 page cheat sheet, the chapter test, and two worksheets / quizzes / assignments / class notes – your choice! Each section will need to include a journal entry as well, which will be assigned near the end of each unit.

When is it due?

I will collect the portfolios on March 23 in order to assign a progress mark. The fully completed portfolio must be handed in on Friday, June 12th, to allow time for it to be marked and returned before your exam.

ü  Keep it in order so things are easy to find

ü  Keep up to date on your work so you have a wide variety of COMPLETED assignments to put in it
