Research Paper
You will need to do research about your topic and write a 2 pg. research paper. Research is an important part of any scientific experiment. In order to understand what is happening during your experiment and to properly analyze your data, you need to have a basic understanding of the science behind your experiment.The paper should represent the current research available about your topic. You should have 10 sources (Wikipedia does not count, neither do Google nor Bing). You must have a sources sited section on your board showing the citations for the sources you researched.
You need to collect information about your topic. You must have a minimum of 10sources of information, books, magazines, professionals, internet, etc… (at least one source must be from something other than the internet).
- You need to have a source card for each source. Card should contain the following information.
- For books or magazines author, title, and page numbers or exact website address.
- A short summary of the information you learned from that source or a copy of the abstract from the source. DUE __OCTOBER 20____
- Now you need to take the information that you have gathered and write it in your own words.
- You paper must have 4 total pages.
- Pg. 1 coversheet with your name and period
- Pg. 2 and pg. 3 will be the text portion of the report that you will write based on your research
- Your paper may be longer that 2 full pages of text but not shorter than 2 full pages
- Pg. 4 bibliography page (cite all your sources)
- The text portion of your paper must be at least 2 full pages, the following criteria must be followed: DUE ___NOVEMBER 11( you may submit early)
- Typed
- Double spaced
- 1 inch margins
- 12 pt font (Times new roman)
- Your paper should also reflect correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Your paper must also have a bibliography page (in addition to the 2 pg report) properly citing your sources in MLA format.
- You must also have a bibliography section on your board (this can be a copy of your reports bibliography page)
- Your paper will become part of your log book for your project.

Materials and Methods
Please write clear, detailed step by step directions that you will follow to test your hypothesis. I should be able to follow your steps and do your project. You should have a minimum of 15 steps. (Add another page if you have more steps.) You may not start your project until I have approved your Materials and Methods.

Data
Create a table or chart to record your data and observations attach your data to this paper.
- Quantitative data – numbers, measurements should be listed below or attached.
- Qualitative data – state of being observations must be represented in a scale format. (0 1 2 3 4 5) This gives you data that you can graph (0 being the lowest rating and 5 being the highest) .
Results
Make a graph or a chart to visually represent your data. You can use the graph area below or create your own b y hand or on a computer. Make sure to include a title, units and label the axis.
Conclusion
Write 2 or more paragraphs explaining the outcome of your experiment. Include an explanation of whether your hypothesis was supported or refuted by your experiment. Use your data to back up your explanation. You could also explain what you would change if you were to do the experiment again.
Application
How does your project benefit the real world. (at least 1 paragraph)
Use the information you turned in (the above worksheets) to type up the sections for your board. Each item should have a section on your presentation board or a slide on your power point presentation.
