The Odyssey Travel Brochure Project
Odysseus visited many places on his trip back home from Troy. You are to create a cruise brochure based on these travels. This brochure should be colorful, creative, and written to entice travelers to spend their money on this cruise. Use persuasive language and many strong adjectives and verbs that will encourage would-be travelers to join use your cruise line.

What to Include:
Ø Description of the cruise, including:
· name of the fictional cruise line
· picture of the cruise ship
· length of the trip
o cost
o what is included
· contact information for the cruise line
· Amenities
Ø Sites visited, including at least five of the following:
· Ismarus
· Island of the Lotus Eaters
· Land of the Cyclopes
· Aeaea (home of Circe)
· Aeolia (home of Aeolus)
· Land of the Laestrygonians
· Land of the Dead
· Island of the Sirens
· Scylla
· Charybdis
· Land of Helios
· Ithaca
Ø Map
· include a detailed map tracing your ship’s route
· be sure to include all of the locations/sites/attractions above, that you use
Ø Trivia about Odysseus’ travels
· include a minimum of ten facts about his travels
· include a picture of one of the creatures that Odysseus faced
How to get started:
Prewriting
· brainstorm ideas on names of the cruise line and cruise ship
· brainstorm ideas for descriptions of the cruise
· choose the five sites you will include about Odysseus’ travels
· choose the seven facts you will include about Odysseus’ travels
· design for your brochure (where the map will go, where the descriptions and facts will go, where the drawing of the creature will go) DISTRIBUTE YOUR INFORMATION IN SUCH A WAY THAT THERE ARE NO BARE SPOTS ON YOUR BROCHURE!!!!!

· use Google docs to create your brochure
· type your descriptions and facts
· insert graphics
· create the finished product
