PROM INFORMATION:
· Prom isSaturday, April 12 from 8:00-11:00 p.m. for Juniors and Seniorsat the Mississippi Agriculture Museum in the Forestry Auditorium.
· Tickets will be on sale during lunch beginningMarch 31 through April 4. Tickets are $20 each (Cash only).
· If you are planning on taking a date that does not attend Clinton High School, then you will need to pick up a form from Ms. Tompkins in room W211. These forms and an email of the dates photo ID are due to Ms. Tompkins byApril 3.
· Before purchasing a ticket, you must view the Prom Dress Code PowerPoint. Your homeroom teacher should have shown this to you. If you have a question about your dress, please see Ms. Tompkins.
· BeginningMonday, March 17, any student who receives an in school or overnight suspension will not be allowed to attend the prom.
· ALL tickets sold are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

The featured guest speaker is our very own Joy Tyner, principal at Northside Elementary School. 3. SENIOR LUAU: Tickets for the senior luau will be sold in the commons during the lunch periods starting the week ofApril 7th, MondaythroughFridayfor that week only. Tickets are $50 each. The luau will be held at Reservoir Pointe onWednesday, May 21st.

7. CHS Boys Soccer Team will be having tryouts for next year’s team onTuesday, April 22nd and Thursday April 24thfrom4:30pm - 6:30pmat Arrow Field. Players must bring a copy of their Physical and a signed Parent Consent Form to tryouts or you will not be allowed to tryout. The tryouts are open to any student who will be in 7th - 12th grade during the 2014-2015 school year.
8. SADD members planning to help with the Princess BallFridaynight,April 11th, need to sign up with Mr. Beasley in Room E111 byFriday, April 28. We need both girls and guys to help. If you wish to order a t-shirt for $10.00 you must pre-order and give the appropriate size.

11. All current 8th - 11th grade females: Volleyball tryouts will be onMonday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 22at Clinton High School Gym from4:30-7:30 pm. In order to tryout, you must bring a volleyball tryout form, activities permission slip form, and proof of a current physical. If you are interested in being a manager (male or female), please come to one day of tryouts and write an essay of why you want to be a manager (include 3 teacher references). 12. ANCHOR CLUB: Anchor Club will also be selling t-shirts designed by senior Khoula Saleem as a fundraiser for Batson. Any Anchor member who sells at least 5 t-shirts will receive a service credit. The top three sellers will receive a gift card!

2014 Phi Gamma Delta Toward Excellence Scholarship. Three scholarships are available: $1,000; $500; and $250 for any male attending Mississippi State University in the fall. All materials are due byMay 30th 2014. Application may be picked up in the guidance office.
Lions Club Scholarship: 2 scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 are available. Students must be attending Mississippi College in the fall. Applications are due by April 25th 2014and may be picked up in the guidance office.

The Ebony Pearls Foundation, Incorporated Scholarship. Graduating seniors who are eligible to apply can receive the following awards:1st Place-$3000.00, 2nd Place-$2000.00, 3rd Place-$1500.00, 4th Place-$1000.00, and 10 book scholarships-$250.00 each.
High school seniors interested in applying must meet the following guidelines:
1. Must be a graduating African American senior from an accredited high school in Hinds, Madison, or Rankin counties.
2. Must submit application, counselor confirmation form, teacher recommendation form, extra-curricular activity/community service forms, awards and honors forms, and official transcript.
3. Must have a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale.

The Clinton (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is pleased to invite qualifying seniors to apply for a scholarship offered through our Educational Development Annual May Week Program. Applications are in the guidance office, due byApril 4th.
The Clinton Community Development Foundation is now accepting applications for teacher mini-grants of up to $250. CCDF has awarded more than 100 grants since they began this program and most of the grant recipients were CPSD teachers.

2014 Summer SLAM Program
Tougaloo College will hold their annual Summer SLAM Program onJune 2- June 27, 2014. The role of the undergraduate training and education center at Tougaloo College is to increase the pool of minority students entering health-related professions. This summer program is designed to provide excellent preparation for success in higher educational studies and to pursue advanced degrees in health professions. IDA Hope Thornton Scholarship
The scholarship grant for 2014 is $1,000 for a student planning to attend a college or university in the state of Mississippi. Applications are limited to those planning to major in English, Journalism, or Agriculture. Please pick up applications in the guidance department.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority are offering four non-renewable scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to high achieving students who plan to attend a Historically Black College/University. Must meet following criteria: GPA of 3.25 or higher; leadership roles & extracurricular activities; and verification of acceptance to a historically black college/university. CESTEME Summer Bridge
June 2-June 27, 2014
The CESTEME Summer Bridge program is limited to incoming JSU freshman STEM students and it is specifically designed to facilitate their transition and success into STEM degree programs at JSU. The CESTEME Summer Bridge program provides an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a dynamic and interactive 4-week program.
Students selected to participate in the CESTEME Summer Bridge must meet the following criteria:
·Planning to attend or admitted to JSU (fall 2013)
·Plan to pursue a STEM degree program of study
·ACT Composite Score – 20 or above and Sub scores in Math and Science – 20 or above
·Complete a Bridge Application with a copy of high school transcript

Lebonte' Woman's Club of Clinton will award a $550.00 cash scholarship to a 2014 CHS female graduate. The winner will be selected on her academic record, honors, participation in organizations, community service, financial need, and personal essay. Applications are in the guidance office. The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson announces the 2014 Aura Neely-Gary Memorial Scholarship available to college students for the 2014-2015 school year.The fund awards one or more scholarships annually (depending upon the number of deserving applicants) in the amount of $2,000 based on merit and need to a male or female student planning to enter a college or university in Mississippi. Preference will be given to students who desire to resume their education following a period of personal difficulties. Special consideration will be given for young women who had previously dropped out of school and are now enrolled at a post-secondary institution. The Arts Council will be awarding one scholarship to a student displaying advanced artistic talent. Sigma Nu Fraternity here at Mississippi State University is are offering one $500 scholarship to one high school senior male attending Mississippi State in the fall of 2013. We look for the winner of our “Freshman Leadership Scholarship” to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom and show his involvement in his community through extracurricular activities and leadership positions.
