Meeting Minutes
St. Luke’s Members Present: Cindy Haag, Shannon Shelton-Ganser, Sr. Lynn Marie Simonich, Angie Pulvermacher, Fr. Mike Resop, Grace Myers, Jess Pape, Cheryl Wittmann, Ann Ryan, Karen Buchanan
St. John’s Members Present: Mike Rohe, Jennifer Day, Karen Marklein, Fr. Mike Resop, Sr. Lynne Marie Simonich, Angie Pulvermacher, Alisha Hahn, Joan Page, Melissa Anding, Kathy Bastin

Joint Reports:
1. Pastoral Associate, Sr. Amy Taylor
2. Bible Study dates, Advent Reflection Nights have been established., see bulletin for information.
3. RCIA – meeting times are being determined by participants, possibly Tuesday evenings at 7pm.
4. Baptism Prep Class – Next class will be held on September 12, St John’s Parish Center
5. Religious Education Coordinator, Angie Pulvermacher
a. Religious Education – St. John catechists needed for grades 1, 4, 8 and 10th. 6th, 7th & 8th grade need assistants or it will be mandatory for parents to sign up to assist the teacher (large classes). St. Luke catechists needed for grades 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11th. 6th, 7th & 8th grade also need assistants or it will be mandatory for parents to sign up to assist the teacher (large classes).
b. Senior Confirmation Classes will be combined from both parishes. Classes will alternate between parishes, meet 2xs/month for 1 ½ hours each time. Dave Mach will be main instructor and Dan Pape will be assisting. A third person is still be looked for to join the team. The Senior Retreat has been set for November 5 & 6 at Camp Gray. The main themes are Social Justice and The Ten Commandments. Sacred Heart in Reedsburg will also be participating. Our catechists and parish adults will be presenting the retreat. R. Bill Nolan will be our main celebrant at Mass with possibly another. The Sacrament o Reconciliation will be offered.
c. Freshmen parents for both parishes have informational meetings set on the “Theology of the Body for Teens” (class curriculum).
d. Catechetical Sunday is Sunday, September 18th and will be observed in both parishes at Mass.
e. Youth Ministry – Scavenger Hunt is planned for Saturday, September 17th, starting after St. Luke’s 4:30 Mass and ending at St. John’s. There are a number of other activities being planned throughout the year. Refer. to RE/YM calendar. Aside of Jr. and Sr. retreats, high school students are encouraged to participate in the Resurrection Rally. It is held at Chula Vista, usually the 1st wkend in February. High School students from all over the diocese come together to have fun, sing, pray and listen to speakers and share their own thoughts.
6. Joint Principal’s Report, Cindy Haag & Karen Marklein
a. Both schools have had summer projects going on and will be discussed more at individual meetings.
b. SJ/SL teachers will meet on Monday, August 22 in Baraboo with other Area 1 teachers to discuss the updated curriculum standards. Teachers will gather on Tuesday, August 23. Joint Parish Staff Meeting on Wednesday, August 24th with focus on the new Roma Missal.
c. SJE Open House will be on Monday, August 29th, begging at 5:45 with a pool party at 6:30pm or K-5. 4K will be Wednesday, August 31st. SLE will be held on Tuesday, August 30th.
d. School begins SJE-Wednesday, August 31st. SLE-September 1. Bus drill scheduled for September 7th.
