Event 1.

Initial training courses for project participants in Lithuania

Participation: The event involved 29 citizens, including 2 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland, 2 participants from the city of Tallinn, Estonia, 2 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 13 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 15/10/2013 to 17/10/2013
Short description: The aim of the event was for all the participants to get to know each other, to find out more about the situation in the field of Human Rights in all the participating countries, to become familiar with the main documents of the EU, which regulate Human Rights and rights of the citizens of the EU, to learn to organize conferences, methods of the Theatre of the Oppressed (Forum theatre and Newspapers theatre), to rehearse performance for the public event on the next day.

Event 2

Public interactive conference


Participation: The event involved 206 citizens, including 2 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland, 2 participants from the city of Tallinn, Estonia, 2 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 190 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 18/10/2013 to 18/10/2013.

Short description: The aim of the event was to provide theoretical information about Human Rights together with vivid performances on this theme. Audience learned about the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, other documents, tried what it is like to define themselves as citizens of the EU, shared their opinion, experiences from daily life about violations of Human Rights, looked together for the solutions.

Event 3

National mini-conferences. Theme “Dignity”


Participation: The event involved 860 citizens, including 139 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, 104 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 88 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 92 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 89 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 119 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland, 126 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 103 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia.

Location / Dates: The event consisted of 8 smaller events in 3 countries and it took place in Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Širvintos, Kriukai, Panevėžys), Latvia (Riga, Vecsaule) and Poland (Rostarzewo), from 21/11/2013 to 24/01/2014.

Short description: The aim of the event was to present to the wider audience Chapter (Title) of “Dignity” of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Mini-conferences on the same theme took place in 8 different places, later information was shared via mail, websites and other tools of communication. Conferences were dedicated to the theme of Dignity: theoretical information and Forum/Newspapers theatre performances on this theme were presented for the audience.


Event 4

National mini-conferences. Theme “Freedoms”

Participation: The event involved 931 citizens, including 151 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, 122 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 92 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 15 participants from the city of Joniškis, Lithuania, 5 participants from the city of Pakruojis, Lithuania, 126 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 83 participants from Širvintos, Lithuania, 101 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 110 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 126 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland.

Location / Dates: The event consisted of 8 smaller events in 3 countries and it took place in Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Širvintos, Kriukai, Panevėžys), Latvia (Riga, Vecsaule) and Poland (Rostarzewo), from 06/02/2014 to 31/03//2014.

Short description: The aim of the event was to present to the wider audience Chapter (Title) of “Freedoms” of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Mini-conferences on the same theme took place in 8 different places, later information was shared via mail, websites and other tools of communication. Mini-conferences were dedicated to the theme of Freedoms. Documents that regulate right to freedom were presented. Forum/Newspapers theatre performances reflected situations where this right is violated, freedom is restricted and audience was invited to discuss, share experience, try out different ways to change the situation.

Event 5

National mini-conferences. Theme “Equality”


Participation: The event involved 875 citizens, including 111 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, 130 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 92 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 89 participants from the city of Kriukai, Joniškis, 104 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 100 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 122 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 127 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland.

Location / Dates: The event consisted of 8 smaller events in 3 countries and it took place in Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Širvintos, Kriukai, Panevėžys), Latvia (Riga, Vecsaule) and Poland (Rostarzewo), from 03/04/2014 to 23/05/2014.

Short description: The aim of the event was to present to the wider audience Chapter (Title) of “Equality” of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Mini-conferences on the same theme took place in 8 different places, later information was shared via mail, websites and other tools of communication. Conferences were held in each participating school. Theoretical information, documents of the EU about the equality and attitude of non-discrimination were presented. Forum theatre and Newspaper theatre performances showed situations were people are not treated equally, are discriminated on various basis and actors together with the whole audience looked for the solutions, for all the possible ways to change these situations.

Event 6

International conference


Participation: The event involved 31 citizens, including 2 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 2 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland, 4 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 2 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 15 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 30/09/2014 to 02/10/2014.

Short description: The aim of the event was to share experience about project implementation in all the countries. Participants had the possibility to share their ideas with members of governing institutions, lawyers, other specialists. Perspectives for future cooperation and further implementation of current activities were discussed.

Event 7

Final public international conference


Participation: The event involved 300 citizens, including 7 participants from the city of Riga, Latvia, 7 participants from the city of Vecsaule, Latvia, 7 participants from the city of Rostarzewo, Poland, 9 participants from the city of Kaunas, Lithuania, 7 participants from the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, 7 participants from the city of Kriukai, Lithuania, 7 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania, 80 participants from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, 169 participants were from unknown cities and countries (travellers in the Bus station).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 03/10/2014 to 03/10/2014.

Short description: The aim of the event was to present the project and its idea to the wide circle of people. It was a public event, took place in Vilnius Bus station, everyone could participate. The project, programme Europe for Citizens, Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union were presented to the large audience. They could also participate in practical activities, got acquainted with the method of Forum theatre, shared their suggestions how to change socially unjust situations. The representative of Lithuania in the European Parliament also participated in the event.

Event 8

Additional/conclusive event in some of the schools


Participation: The event involved 104 citizens, including 60 participants from Joniškis district, Lithuania, 44 participants from the city of Širvintos, Lithuania.

Location / Dates: The event consisted of two smaller events, in Širvintos, Lithuania and Kriukai, Lithuania, from 15/05/2014 to 25/06/2014.

Short description: The aim of these additional events was to spread the idea of the project wider – to other towns of Lithuania and also to different social and age groups.

Additional activities: International questionnaire survey (56 participants, from 01/05/2014 to 07/11/014); Handouts (70 printed copies, available also online; from 01/08/2014 to 03/09/2014), Publication of Best Practice (45 printed copies, available also online; from 28/03/2014 to 15/10/2014), Social advertisement.
