4BBB MATCHPLAY

The Mary Alward\Tuakana and Silver Pennants format is singles match play played in conjunction with a 4BBB match. Both matches are played with handicap.

4BBB match play:

Shots are taken from the lowest handicapper.

For example: (for Mary Alward/Tuakana)

Player No 7: P7 is on a 21 handicap

Player No 8: P8 is on a 24 handicap

Opposition No 7: O7 is on a 21 handicap

Opposition No 8: O8 is on a 23 handicap

The lowest handicap is 21 therefore the 21 handicappers give 2 shots to the 23 handicapper and 3 shots to the 24 handicapper.

Player 8 gets 3 shots (1 each on shot holes 1, 2 and 3)

Opposition 8 gets 2 shots (1 each on shot holes 1 and 2)

All players are equal on shot holes 4 to 18.

For example:

On shot hole 1

Player 7 and Opposition 7 must have 1 shot less than Player 8 and Opposition 8 to halve.

P7 scores 6 / O7 scores 6 / O7 scores 5
O7 scores 5 / P7 scores 5 / P7 scores 4
P8 scores 6 / O8 scores 6 / O8scores 6
O8 scores 6 / P8 scores 5 / P8 scores 6
PS7, P8 and O8 are equal, the hole is halved / P8 wins the hole / P7 wins the hole

On shot hole 2

Same as shot hole 1

On shot hole 3

P8 is the only player getting a shot. If P8 has the same score or less on the hole than the other players she wins the hole. If she has one shot more the hole will be halved.

NB:

In the singles match between P8 and O8 there is only one shot given. In the 4BBB these players are getting 2 and 3 shots. On shot holes 2 and 3 it is important to play that extra shot.

ie: On stroke hole 2 O8 is in the hole for 4. P8 has had 4 shots and is 3 feet from the hole. P8 has lost the hole in her singles. O7 is in the hole for 4. If P7 is also in the hole the 4BBB has been halved but if P7 has a 5, P8 should putt for her 5 to halve the hole with O7.
