Supplies needed: 3 ring binder 1-1/2 inch,1 pack of dividers,12 Pack of pencils, 1 handheld pencil sharpener, 1 package of notebook paper(to be replenished throughout the year) and 1 box of Tissues and 1 pack of Multi-colored Highlighters. 1 Pack of Red Pens

Conference Time: 9:34am: 10:15am

Tutorials: Monday and ThursdayMornings, 8:00am- 8:30am

Grading Scale

Major Grades= 60%, Daily Work= 40% Homework= can vary depending on the assignment

Late Work/ Make-Up Policy: Students are expected to turn in all class work and homework by the date assigned by the Teacher. Student progress is monitored by the evaluation of the student work. Without completion of assignments, student progress cannot be accurately monitored and class averages will not reflect student’s mastery of the TEKS. The consequences for late, missing, and incomplete work are listed below. All consequences provide the student time to complete late, missing or incomplete work.

Daily/Quiz Grades

1st assignmentPlacement in ZAP daily until the assignment is complete, parents contacted by teacher.

2nd assignmentPlacement in ZAP daily until assignment is complete, parents contacted by teacher and tutorials are required.

3rd assignment1 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher.

4th assignment2 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher, student conference held with teachers.

5th assignmentOffice Referral, 1 Day ISS, parents contacted by teacher and Assistant Principal.

6th assignmentOffice Referral, 2 Days ISS, parents contacted by teacher and Assistant Principal

*Students working on the same assignment during lunch time for 3 days will issued an after-school detention.

Projects/Papers/Test Grades

1st project1 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher

2nd project2 hour after- school detention, parents contacted by teacher

3rd projectOffice Referral, 1 Day ISS, parents contacted by teacher and Assistant Principal.

*Students with projects not turned in within three days of the due date will be assigned one day of ISS to complete the project.

Academic Dishonest Policy: Any student found cheating orPlagiarizing will receive a 0 on the assignment will have to make- up the assignment for a maximum grade of a 70.

Rules and Procedures Contract

In order to be a successful student in CoachColeman’s class I, ______understand that I must follow the rules and procedures listed below to the best of my ability. Furthermore, I understand that if I break one of these rules the consequences listed below will be bestowed upon me.

Rules:

  1. I will show respect to the Teacher; by not talking while the Teacher is talking.
  2. I will show respect to my classmates; by keeping my hands and feet to myself.
  3. I will only use positive and uplifting words towards my Teacher and my classmates.
  4. I will show respect to the classroom; by putting all food, drinks and gum away while in class.
  5. I will be on time and bring my materials to class every day and be prepared to work.

Procedures:

  1. I will quietly come into class every day, take out my materials and start my STAAR Starters.
  2. I will remain in my seat unless, I am told otherwise by the Teacher.
  3. I will raise my hand and wait quietly until I am called upon, when I have something to say.
  4. I understand that the bell does not dismiss me, and I will remain in my seat until the Teacher dismisses me.

Consequences:

1st offense: will result in a verbal warning being given by the Teacher.

2ndoffense :Loss of Privileges/ Lines

3rdoffense:30 minute Teacher Detention and phone call to parent/guardian

4th offense: 30 minute Lunch Detention and parent/guardian and teacher conference

5th offense: 1 hour after-school Tuesday Detention and parent/guardian contact

6th Offense: 2 hour after-school Friday Detention and parent/guardian contact

7th Offense: Office Referral
