Eligibility

There will be 5 classifications of athletes eligible to play in the BNSW State Titles, based on functional ability. Athletes in the BC1, BC2 BC3 and BC4 classifications must meet the requirements as outlined in the BISFed Boccia Rules which will govern this competition. A new classification of BC5 has recently been approved by BISFed. Athletes who fall into this category will play with the combined BC4 & EMU athletes.

The last classification is the EMU athletes which means Every Member Unclassified. These athletes do not meet the BisFed requirements; however will have a physical disorder of limbs including neurological impairment affecting the CNS, locomotor dysfunction of Non-Cerebral origin such as muscular skeletal disorders and / or limb deformities.

Classification

Athletes that need to be classified must complete the Classification Request form. If you are unsure whether you/your child needs to be classified, please contact Stacey Sedmak at or 02 9975 8085. Priority will be given to EMU’s who feel they may be BC5 and those who have never been classified.

Classification will be scheduled after all registration forms are received, and individuals will be contacted with scheduled date/times.

Governing Rules

BISFed Boccia Rules 2015 will govern the competition. The rules are available at http://www.bisfed.com/. There will be no equipment check at this competition.

Competition Structure

Individual divisions of play: BC1, BC2, BC3, BC4/EMU.

The finishing position in all pools for each classification will be determined by the athlete that has won the most games.

However, if games won are the same, positions will be determined by points for and against (the points gained in tie break ends shall not be included).

If the for and against are tied, the result of the game between those two athletes will determine the positions.

Each classification will have capped numbers. They are as follows:

·  8x BC1

·  16x BC2

·  16x BC3

·  16x BC4/EMU

Classifications will be filled on a first come, first served basis with priority given to NSW athletes.

Ball Swap and Sell

Be sure to bring along those old or unwanted Boccia balls. They might be ideal for someone looking for that perfect first ball or drive ball.

Boccia NSW Committee Meeting

Boccia NSW committee will be holding a meeting on Saturday evening. All are welcome to attend.
