Revision of zero and first conditional s

There are many types of if clauses. Zero conditional sentences usually refer to general truths, but can also refer to actions in the near future. We use the present tense in both parts of the sentence.

  • If I get tickets for Damian Pollasco, I get dinner with Marty Ross!

First conditional sentences refer to the future. We use the future tense (or a modal) in the main clause.

  • If there are no tickets, I will not present Saturday's show.
  • If there are tickets, then I will take her out to dinner.
