We, as a team hereby pledge to abide by these guiding principles by the time we finish our discussion:

  • We will work on resolving disagreements rather than burying them
  • We will work before play
  • We will keep up with positive and negative feedback
  • We will be open minded and accepting of feedback and new ideas
  • We will make group decisions, not individual decisions
  • We will try to keep focused and maintain a forward motion during meeting times

Article III

Our mission:To present in a fun and interesting way, both written and orally, our views and experiences with crisis management teams with emphasis on their balance between work and family, while maintaining a high level of team cohesion, cooperation, and overall effectiveness.

Article IV

To work efficiently as a team we believe the power must be divided equally amongst all team members. Following are the designated individual roles that if needed can be reassigned.

  • Project Coordinator – Chris is responsible for this position. He will facilitate the meeting and keep tasks at hand efficient. He will also provide the structure of the meeting and oversee all aspects of the project.
  • Record Keeper – Yana will carry out the responsibilities of the record keeper. During each meeting she will record the events of both group interaction issues as well as day-to-day project operations.
  • Liaison – Kylah will be delegated the roll of the liaison. She will be the one to approach authority about questions dealing with the team project.
  • Editor – Adam has the responsibility of being the editor. He is to carefully review team products for submission. All changes to said products would be reviewed and approved by the entire group.
  • Meeting facilitator – Brendan is the assigned meeting facilitator. He will be in charge of planning all the meetings before they take place. He will also enforce the equal participation of all group members.

Article V

As a team we have decided to divide tasks based on the criteria of individual strength, availability of resources, and time. To accomplish this, the methods we plan to utilize are dividing the work based on deadlines and in a fair and reasonable fashion. Because we believe that all members should have equal distribution of work, we are open to all possible combinations of divisions of labor. This is to ensure not only a fairness of work amongst our members, but also a quality final product.

Article VI

See attached team plan.

Article VII

In order to maintain effective meetings we will abide by these established guidelines.

  • Frequency: We will meet every Wednesday before class with additional meetings decided according to task loads.
  • Scheduling: Meetings will be held according to team schedule and length of time will be determined in the prior meeting.
  • Attendance: Mandatory attendance unless prior notification is provided.
  • Attitude: All members are responsible for healthy and positive attitudes.
  • Decision Making: The group will make decisions based on consensus. If consensus is unable to be reached, a voting system will take place using a majority rule.

Article VIII

All team members are accountable for assigned tasks. However, if an individual encounters problems along the way and cannot finish the task, he or she should contact the group for help. This is to ensure a supportive environment among members as well as maintaining team unity.

Article IX

A reward system for our team will be to verbally praise any member who performs to an exceptional level. As a group we will reward ourselves by doing fun activities such as outings for coffee or ice cream. Each group member is allotted 100 points at the beginning of the project. If a team member does not follow through with an assigned task or attend an agreed meeting, that member will lose points upon consensus of the remainder of the team. For each offense, defined as previously stated, two points will be taken away from their personal allocation of 100 points. In addition, if you continue to commit “offenses”, a team intervention will be held and you will continue to lose points. Final team evaluations will be based from this point scale.

Article X

A contract revision will be available as needed throughout the term of the project. A special meeting will be called if the contract is to be changed. These revisions will be based on a group consensus. Important issues that are not covered in the contract should be addressed in regular meetings.

Article XI

I, the undersigned, do hereby agree to the terms of the above contract.
